Respect Infinity Man!

This thread will be dedicated to the Infinity Man!

Though his appearances are limited, he is considered to be one of (if not the) most powerful New Gods ever - he pretty much defines a 'Deus Ex Machina' (character-wise)...

Please do not spam/troll this thread, people doing so will be reported immediately.

A few bios:

======

Character origin:

----

First off, Infinity Man = The Source (that's pretty important):

======

The Forever people unite… Infinity Man is born:

======

He can even be summoned from within a 'sealed' universe:

======

If Infinity Man's 'hosts' are in some way killed, or die, his consciousness can seek out new 'hosts':

======

However, IM does not require 'hosts' to exist in this plane… Though rarely seen, he can act independently, if he wishes to:

======

"I come from the place where all natural laws shift. Where they bend and change. Where the answer to gravity is anti-gravity… And simply done":

======

"I am that which is within… but beyond."
"I am the heart of man, and the heart of the cosmos":

======

Infinity Man was the Source's idea of ultimate perfection:

Now on to some of his 'battles'…

At the behest of the Source, Infinity Man single handedly killed off every New God in existence:

======

And just so you know, there were "hundreds of thousands" of New Gods:

IM takes on Superman:

Granted, Supes got in some nice hits, but he was easily contained in the end..

IM vs. Scott Free (in possession of the ALE)… Their battle ends up destroying the Source Wall, entirely:

Infinity Man owns the incredibly powerful Mantis:

======

Infinity Man actually takes Devilance's weapon from him. This feat was supposedly impossible – it actually shocked Dakeseid and Dessad that he was able to do so:

======

Owns a three-headed Apokoliptian dog with little effort:

The same dog had previously been owning Orion:

IM effortlessly owns the Gravity Guard:

Just to compare strength – the Gravity Guard had just smacks around pre-crisis Superman like he was nothing:

======

A retelling of the same event:

======

Owns a bunch of Shadow Demons/Guards:

======

A brief scuffle with Gog:

Now for some of his powers/abilities…

Infinity Man's most powerful attack is probably the rarely seen, "Infini-Beam."

A single blast has the ability to remove all the power from his opponents:

Note that in the first scan IM also survives an "anti-matter touch" from Mantis, with no real ill-effect (very impressive.)

======

One of IM's standard blasts is sufficient to give Superman pause:

======

Shrugs off Superman's most powerful blast of HV, and proceeds to punk him with optical blasts/punches of his own:

======

IM effortlessly blocks Darkseid's Omega Beams:

======

Superman's Heat-Vision couldn’t even scratch these Apokoliptian Automations – Yet IM's blast shredded through them like they weren’t even there:

IM has the ability to alter the atomic structure of matter…

Manifests a construct in which to contain Superman:

======

Alters the atomic structure an "indestructible" block of ice created by Mantis:

======

Creates a 'prison' for some Shadow Guards:

======

Physically, IM is one of the most powerful beings out there..

-Orion-
"Incredible! He’s stronger than even me!":

In fact, IM's powers are so awesome, that even Orion himself was jealous of them:

IM also has the ability to phase through solid matter:

======

After a group of Apokoliptian soldiers fired their 'Omega shots' at IM, he casually stopped said blasts in mid air, and turned them back on their originators:

======

IM can tune his thoughts in such a way that he can mentally link with other beings. This unique trait allows him to 'sense' where other beings are:

======

He can also 'sense' any aggressors, simply by existing in our plane:

Very nice.

👆

Thanks! 😄

Oddly enough, Infinity Man was sorta/kinda mentioned in the last issue of Final Crisis..

-Nix Uotan, (son of Mandrakk)-
"With the word 'Taaru' I summon the Forever People of the 5th World!"
"There is no limit to what I can do":

Kind of interesting that IM (or his energies, at least) would be specifically mentioned, and needed, when the heroes were combating one of the more powerful foes in DC's history, no? kinda

Excellent thread, Galan! A very underrepresented and underestimated character.

Infinity Man rocks (Ted Turner ripped off the whole idea for Captain Planet)

Thanks guys! 🙂

As stated above, Infinity Man was responsible for the death of every single New God in existence ("hundreds of thousands".) The following scans are some of the more notable New Gods he easily slew..

Victims of Infinity Man (part II)

The Forever People:

(Further proof IM doesn't 'need' them to combine in order to exist in the material plane.)
