SO what if Speilberg wouldn't have done Passions of christ. The man is has a duty to make movies that he beleives in and to portray things he is interested in. Gibson is christian and he would have found some sort of joy/or something in making a story about the man they believe as " their" god ( mind you jesus is the SON of god but MANY people tend to treat him as god or even more important)
Think about it, WOUld GIbson have made a good ( or great as people keep saying about this movie) about another Religious head( such as Allah, Buddha, Shiva, or QUETZALCOATL). I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT.
Speilberg is one of the greatest creative minds of our time, so dont diss him .
And sorry to say it , BUT gibson is keeping up with hollywood/movies today theme of making something that has been made BEFORE. NEED more originality. Its just that people are soooooooooo used to Gore movies these day that a graphic Bible story fits in perfectly.
