Lee's Crow vs. Ledger's Joker

Both actors died after performing these characters in some of the best comic book-based movies out there.

1. Which was the better performance/had better characterization?
2. What would happen if The Joker killed Eric in Gotham and Eric came back as The Crow to seek revenge?
