Powers and abilities
The Thing possesses vast superhuman strength, endurance, and durability. The cosmic ray bombardment caused his musculature, bone structure, internal organ composition, soft-tissue structure and skin to greatly increase in toughness and density as a rock like substance.
The Thing can exert himself at high levels for about a day before being significantly weakened by the effort. The Thing's lungs are of greater volume and efficiency than a normal man, enabling him to hold his breath underwater for several times longer than a normal human. The Thing's five senses can withstand greater amounts of sensory stimuli than he could when he was a normal human being, with no reduced sensitivity save in his sense of touch. The Thing's body is able to withstand temperature extremes for some time before feeling the effects. He can withstand the effects of armor-piercing shells against his skin with no injury. He is still susceptible to colds, disease, and emotional stress.
Unlike in the case of the Hulk, the Thing has suffered no loss in intelligence nor change in personality in his transformation to his monstrous form, as he does not suffer from Banner's multiple personality disorder (which predates Banner becoming the Hulk).
The Thing's strength has increased over the years since his initial exposure to cosmic rays. Originally, the Thing possessed superhuman strength sufficient to lift about 5 tons. His strength has increased considerably over the years, due partially to the unique exercise equipment designed for him by Reed Richards. Currently, the Thing has vast superhuman strength with an upward limit of 85 tons. The Thing's strength is greatly inferior to that of Juggernaut and Hulk, who can lift far beyond the 100 ton level.
The Thing is typically able to hold his own amongst the strongest superhumans due to his indominitable resolve and exceptional fighting skills he learned as a normal human. Characters with superhuman strength tend to lack real fighting skills having always had the luxery of relying on brute force alone. He also retains athletic agility whereas most characters with vast superhuman strength are physically bulky and awkward.
Aside from his great physical advantages, the Thing is an excellent pilot, although aircraft have to be specially designed for him to fly them. Originally a test pilot for the Air Force, he's flown many types of aircraft in his career. His agility and reflexes, despite his enormous bulk, are that of an athlete. Ben's gruff mannerism and his tendency to do the major physical labor of Reed Richard's projects hide the fact that he is actually an intelligent and well educated man. As he was once a member of street gang, the Thing is an excellent street fighter and also has experience with wrestling. His appearance belies his intellect and his agility as a fighter, leading foes to underestimate him.
Powers and abilities :
Ultimate Colossus is virtually unstoppable for by no means is he the equivalent to his 616 counterpart for he has shown to be far stronger. Piotr has the ability to transform his body from flesh and blood into organic steel, giving him superhuman strength and making him impervious to harm. Supposedly his power has not yet fully developed because of his youth. Some say that Colossus armor in the Ultimate continuity is stronger than even adamantium, but this has not yet been proven.
In this transformed state, Colossus' body gains around a inch in additional height and his body mass is doubled. The source of Colossus' gain in height and muscle mass is unknown, but possibly extra dimensional.
Ultimate Colossus possesses vast superhuman strength, the limits of which have not been revealed. Ultimate Colossus strength was sufficient enough for him to battle powerhouses such as Ultimate Thor, Ultimate Ironman, and Ultimate Magneto placing his strength well into the Class 100 level, being able to lift in excess of 100 tons with ease. This makes him one of the most physically powerful beings, if not the most powerful, in the Ultimate Universe.
Aside from his incredible strength, Ultimate Colossus' steel skin possesses an amazing degree of invulnerability to injury, allowing him to battle with some of the strongest characters of the Ultimate Universe. Ultimate Colossus armor is so great it can withstand a blast from a nuke, falls from great heights, exposure to temperatures far less than that of Pluto to temperatures greater than that of the Sun, exposure to vacuum environments, direct contact with molting lava, strikes from Wolverines adamantium claws, etc without sustaining the slightest injury. Being conductive, he is immune to electricity. Colossus's armored body also cannot rust. A side effect of his armor's strength enhancing effect is a vastly greater muscle efficiency than an ordinary human. While armored, his muscles generate considerably less lactic acids than those of ordinary humans, granting him superhuman levels of stamina in all activities. He can exert himself at peak capacity for several days before fatigue begins to impair him. Colossus has demonstrated no need to breathe while he is in his armored state and there's no known limit as to how long he can remain in this form.
In the Ultimate continuity, it has been shown that Colossus's eyes do not turn into steel, but instead remain organic and vulnerable (in the normal continuity, Colossus's eyes have been able to withstand a gunshot). Also, unlike the "normal" Colossus, when he is knocked unconscious he remains in whatever form he was in (see the "Hellfire and Brimstone" plotline). Also, this version of Colossus is immune to Cyclops's optic blasts. This proves useful when they are fighting the Russian Mafia in a search for Mr. Sinister.
Although Colossus has been knocked out he has yet to be physically damaged or harmed in the Ultimate Universe. This version of Colossus also seems to have exceptional hand to hand fighting skills which he learned possibly from his close friend Wolverine. Most Characters with superhuman strength such as Hulk tend to lack real fighting skills having always had the luxury of relying on brute force alone. Ultimate Colossus also gains athletic agility, and speed whereas most characters with superhuman strength are physically bulky and slow.
In the Ultimate Universe only Hulk seems to be threat to Colossus a for it seems that when Colossus puts his mind to something only he himself can stop his actions. This is shown when he overcomes Magneto’s influence, Stops a speeding train dead in its tracks, and carries a k-14 sub from the bottom of the Ocean miles from shore.
There strengh isn't matched, and there fighting skills are nearly the same, and you doubt Ultimate Colossus heart? do you not remember the Magneto situation?
Dude get off ultimate universe balls, Earth 616 Thing will win palin and simple. The Thing has more feats of strength and abilities than ultimate colossus. The Thing 9/10
That's true due to the faaar greater amount of time 616 Thing had since he became introduced.
BUT when you look at the number of feats in relation to the time the characters in question are in the comics, you will see, that there is not much difference between them.
When you take a good look at the quality of these feats, you will also see, that those of ultimate Colossus are far more impressive, especially when you think about how young he still is.

Which part of the facts that they are both ranked at a lvl 6 in strength per MARVEL and that the 616 THING is ranked at a lvl 5 and Ultimate Colossus is a lvl 3 in fighting skills don't you want to hear... Or read...?
Ben has supported an entire oil rig out in the middle of the ocean and stopped it from collapsing... At one point he held it with 1 arm and shoulder...
I'd have to say your average oil rig structure out in the middle of the ocean is a conciderablely larger and heavier construct than any submarine.
That was in two-in-one #64 in 1980.
Current 616 THING is much stronger and more dangerous that 26 yrs ago.
Either 616 THING or Ultimate THING would destroy either 616 or Ultimate Colossus thats just the way it is... Deal with it.
Thing holding the Oil rig was impressive. But all he did was hold a corner of it and not the entire weight of the structure. It's no different really than Colossus holding up the Collapsing Hospital.
That really doesn't look hard, he only held up the corner, and to base your beliefs off the handbook is wild. The handbook states Colossus can lift thousands of tons, but has him lifted as a 6 in strength. If you remember Ultimate Thor has a 4 in fighting skills yet he couldn't get one hit of off Ultimate Colossus who has a 3.
The handbooks are garbage face it
Then you say Ultimate Thing could destroy Ultimate Colossus, and 616 Colossus when Ultimate Thing lost a fight to Wolverine after one kick are you crazy?
Ultimate Colossus sub feat was a lot more impressive than the oil rig feat. The sub was at the bottom of the ocean which adds tons, and tons of pressure, and it was uphill. Thing just stood there.
