Force Valor will definitely help Bastilla in a duel.

I gave the example of Yoda to show that how helpful Force Valor can be in case of boosting the fighting potential of a Jedi as even the greatest of the Jedi Masters used this ability in duels.


Kenobi and Qui-Gon used it to simply escape from those Battle Droids.


The level of proficiency in these abilities also matter.


What has Maul to do in this case? An irrelevant example.
