Well since there is not a whole lot in the world of gaming these days, since most of the really cool stuff doesn't come out for a while, I though hey, lets talk about our personell histories of how we got into gaming, and what we played through the years and what we are planning to play in the future.
1983- my parents bought us kids a thing called the Intellivision. Funky thing with stickered wood paneling, and strange controller. But hey it enterttained us when we had chicken pox.
1990- After pleading my parents, we finally got one. At the age of 10, I finally felt like a member of the human race when for Christmas my parents bought us the Nintendo Entertainment system. Oh yes friends as, Sean Astin said Encino man "Blades........now were finally part of the elite!"
Fave games- Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 2, Super Mario 3, Dr. Mario, Teenage mutant ninja turtles 2 the arcade game, Marbel madness, the legend of Zelda, California Games, Metal gear
1991- With some birthday money I bought myself a Gameboy with pea green screen and all!
Fave games- TMNT fall of the footclan, Super mario land, super mario land 2
1993-It took a little more pleading but it came once again at Christmas. The Super Nintendo. A consol I love to this very day, and still works like a charm. Unfornuatley it would be my last Nintendo Consol for now....hopefully I will have a new one soon.
Fave Games-Super mario world, Super mario allstars, F-Zero, Simcity, Zelda link to the past, Mario kart, Donkey Kong country, Star wars, Empire Strikes back, return of the jedi, Pilot wings, Tecmo super bowl, Lillehammer winter olympics, Mortal kombat II.
1999-I had played by buddies N64 for quite a bit and was eyeballin purchasing one, until 1999 the Pokemon craze hit, consumed Nintendo, and I turned by back on them because they turned their back on many of us. In October for $99.99 I purchased the Playstation.
Fave games- Metal Gear Solid, Medal of honor, Syphon filter 1, 2, and 3, Spider-man, Tony Hawk
2002-I had actually purchased GTA 3 before buying the Playstation 2. (I worried it was going to get banned) even with a memory card shortage, I was entertained for a while, and then soon many years to come.
Fave games- GTA 3, Vice city, San andreas, MGS 2, MGS 3, Medal of honor frontline, Call of duty finest hour, Shadow of the colussus, Conflict vietnam, Madden
2005-two days after launch I bought the PSP, did'nt touch it for a while, but I'm really enjoying the thing now.
Fave Games- GTA VCS, MGS portable ops, Medal of honor heroes
In the next few years I hope own a nintendo DS, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and a Nintendo Wii. I'm sick missing out on stuff, and the 3 biggies all offer backwards compatibility......I hope to someday play:
mario 64, Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, Mario sunshine, Mario galaxy, MGS 4, Resistance, GTA IV, Zelda Twilight Princess, Zelda ocarnia, Zelda Windwaker, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Afrika, Gears of war
When the NEs first came out, my brother bought one, he was the first cat in the beighborhood to have one. The house was filled with my brothers friends who came over the witness the unboxing of the system that started it all...Duck hunt was never so much fun
I remember sneaking out into the living room late at night to play ninja gaiden on my brothers nintendo, because the bastard would never let me play it.
The first time my brother bought the power glove, and tried to figure out the point of it, until ultimately realizing that he paid 65$ for a controller integrated onto a glove lol lol lol lol
Going to the arcade to watch people do the killer instinct fatality where orchid flashed her boobs, as well as the many hour i spent at the arcade playing MK2
the first time i played silent hill, The presence that game emmited is still with me today.
thats enough for now, but The many many more has made me realize just how much video games influenced good memories

but I remember having a bottle in one hand and a caleco vision controller in the other playing that damn adventure game with the arrow , and donkey kong..
then I got the atari... got all kinds of games with that, n my brother mostly hogged it or beat me at all the games -,-
then NES... I still remember the day some bastard brought mario 3 to school the only system you had to blow in the cartridge for even if the game was damn brand new... like the time this one wrestling game didnt work so I handed it to my drunk dad n he smashed up against the wall and krazy-glued it back together an it ran like a charm
after this I got super nintendo / giant gameboy.. and super mario world became the first game I sat down and finished... yet tetris still plagues me to this day XD
then genesis / gamegear... yum yum color handhelds and uncensored gaming... after this I recieved a Sega-CD one christmas, a 32x the next christmas
Strangely, after this, my sisters boyfriend got me a Turbo Graphix 16... I really loved bonks adventure for that console
I then got the saturn for 400 ish dollars (I think that was the retail price at first shipping?).. with VF and 2 controllers (unfortunately 1 of those 2 controllers was a display controller with the wires showing -,- )
then along came playstation.. this was when consoles were rentable at blockbuster video... t'was love at first sight with battle arena toshinden <3
I also rented virtual boy... but never bothered to buy it
and then N64... wow.. I have never ever felt the same way I did as when I first saw and played mario 64.. love at first sight right there
after this I got a dreamcast with soul calibur and a few days later I got the chu chu rocket keyboard bundle..(so many sleepless nights on the japan chat channels )... and then waited a while (like 2 years after initial release) before I bought a Ps2.. and then a gamecube following that (for smash brothers of course~)
around this time I was sortof apathetic about console gaming and had bought my first PC (around 2001'ish) cuz mah ol' man came and threw 5,000 bucks in 20 dollar bills on the couch... (usually he's the vagrant type and wouldnt part with a dollar.. so I had to pinch myself for a moment).. after this it was diablo 2 , quake 3 , counterstrike, half life, alien vs predator 2 , serious sam, star craft, warcraft 3 , etc etc.. so my consoles collected dust
then.. one day I had went to my nephews house.. and he was playing halo on xbox.. so I sat down and played too... and realised that I hadnt had that much fun with a console FPS since goldeneye on the N64.. (granted perfect dark was great, but there was just something about goldeneye)... so I wound up purchasing an Xbox and Halo
then I built a second pc after a year
after a while, I snagged a PSP and hated it cuz it had dead pixels.. and so did the other 8 I exchanged for!... of course the clerks answer was "its only 3 / 4 dead pixels" I'm like "shii.. if I pay 250 dollars for something... it best look like I paid 250 for it"
so I got tired of doing the exhanges, gave it to my nephew
and thats when I got a nintendo DS... yum yum mario kart , metroid hunters and meteos
which brings me to when I saw gears of war and had to get an x360~ o.o
after that.. (which is most recent of events.. like around 2 weeks ago) I've just built my 3rd PC which is now Direct X10 ready and SLI compatible
[I may have the N64 and Dreamcast events confused.. I forget which one came first XD]
1994-2000. Various DOS games like Commander Keen and Math Rescue were played with such intense scrutiny. I Watched in envy when my stepbro played various COOL SNES games on the comp.
2002- Saw my bro played Age of Empires II on the comp. Few days later, I tried it out and loved it to death. Starcraft would soon follow but would in my personal view, not hold a candle next to AoE II.
2003-2005- Played various game behind my parents back and started budding my love for PC games.
2007- Greatest hieight of my gaming life. Current games being played now are titan quest, Dawn of War Dark Crusade, Beyond Good and Evil, Battle for Middle Earth, Max Payne etc.
When I was born - 1983 - We had the Atari, on which I played Centipede, Asteroid (I think), Pacman, and such. I barely remember this. But my parents told me.
1986 - Dad bought himself the Nintendo Entertainment System, which immediately became mine. This is where my gaming addiction took off and never subsided. One of my fondest, earliest memories with my father was the two of us playing through the original Legend of Zelda together. I was so young, he did most of the thinking and helped me a great deal. But we ended up beating it. I think we even did the second master quest, but I'm not sure. Also was heavily into Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Castlevania, and of course, Super Mario Bros 3. Also I loved the game Kung Fu, I still remember the way the first boss would laugh when he'd kill you, as does my mom, who heard the sound very often. I think last time I counted I had around 40 games for the NES. The NES lasted me until around 93/94, when I got....
1993 -Super Nintendo - The best system of all time, imo. This had some of the most immensely amazing games I had ever played, including most of my all time favorites, such as Final Fantasy VI, Tetris Attack, Chrono Trigger, and so on.
Final Fantasy VI was the first game that I was really addicted to. It was the first game which I would sit and play for 13 hours straight and such. It was immediately the best game I had ever played, still is, to this day, my favorite and most cherished game of all time.
The game Killer Instinct holds a place in my heart because I remember to this day how excited I was when that was going to come out. The night before it came out I literally couldn't sleep, I was too excited. That day, my parents and I were planning on going to San Diego for our family vacation. I talked my dad into letting me bring the Super Nintendo with us so I could play my new game. We were planning on leaving at around noon, buth there was a problem. The shipment for Killer Instinct hadn't arrived at the local Toys R Us. My dad said we could wait till 1:00 or so, but then we had to go whether I had the game or not. I called the store every 10 minutes asking if they got the shipment to no avail until about 12:45. Then my dad said we had to leave, so I called once more, and to my immense joy, they had just received the shipment. The lady who answered all my calls said she was so happy that the shipment came because it meant that I would stop calling. I laughed and thanked her. We then picked it up and went straight to San Diego for our vacation, which consisted of me playing Killer Instinct constantly. My Dad was upset and regretted letting me take the system because I didn't want to do anything else, but whatever, it has since become an important memory.
This system lasted well through 96 (or whenever the N64 came out), and still go back and play it sometimes. Just about 6 months ago me and one of my friends really got back into Tetris Attack, which we played for about 2 months almost every day. That game is amazing.
In 1995 my parents bought me a Sega Genesis for some reason. I never asked for one or even showed interest, but they thought it would help the wait for the N64. It was a nice system, I remember enjoying the Sonic Games, but I got it to late and was still very much into the Super Nintendo, so I didn't experience some of the Sega classics.
1996 - N64 - The first system I bought for myself, with money I had saved up since the announcement of the system. I reserved it months before it came out at Toys R Us. About 3 weeks before the system was set for release, the local Blockbuster got one in and set it up for public play. Every day after school until the system came out, my friend and I would walk over and play it for several hours. Usually we had to just replay the same segments of Super Mario 64 over and over but I didn't care. Sometimes the (understandably) annoyed employees would kick us out after an hour or so, but usually they didn't care.
Then on the Friday before the system was released I heard rumors at school that Toys R Us got shipments early and were selling them to customers who preordered. I nearly shit my pants, and when I got home I called, and sure enough they had released them early (which got them in trouble with Nintendo, but who cares?). I went and got my system and proceeded to play it all weekend. I don't know if you guys have seen the South Park episode, where the kids get a new system and start planning their days around it and calculate how much time they have to play before they have to do something that they don't want to do, but I quite literally did that exact thing - (Okay, I just got out of school, I have a good 8 hours to play before I have to go to bed, maybe 9 hours if I can talk my mom into letting me stay up late).
The excitement and anticipation for this system was unparalleled. Of course, it had some of the greatest games of all time - Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time, Killer Instinct Gold, and so on. I adore this system.
In 97 I got a Playstation, along with FFVII and NHL98 for Christmas. Both wonderful games. I later got other classics such as Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo 1 and 2, and Resident Evil, another massively great system, which totally deserved its popularity.
In 99/2000 I got heavily into PC games because my dad bought us a new computer, specifically Half Life and Counter strike. This caused my console interest to decrease during the next generation, I got the PS2 and Gamecube, but didn't play them nearly as much as I had prior systems. The PC pretty much dominated from 2000 - 2006.
In 2006 I got the 360, which is currently gone for repairs. And a few months ago I got the Wii. I will get a PS3 someday, whenever there are more games that I wish to play. As it is, gaming memories are some of my fondest, and it's one of the few interests that have stayed strong throughout my life.
I remember back when I was a kid and playing N64, the adults would tell me that it's just a phase. That when I got older I would loose interest in gaming and concentrate on girls and other things.
Needless to say, it never came true, I still love games and believe I always will.
Also, I forgot to mention handhelds. I was never really into handhelds until I got the DS Lite. I had some though - The first being Gamegear, which was a nice but flawed system. I'm a bit saddened to say I never owned an original Gameboy. I know I missed out on some amazing games, which sucks. I did get the great Gameboy Color, though. Then the Gameboy Advance SP, and finally, the DS and last year the DS Lite.
I also bought the Dreamcast at some point, but only played a few games on it, though they were great - Grandia II and Marvel vs Capcom II.
Currently, I rotate between the PC (World of Warcraft, mostly) and the 360 and the Wii.

ok this is a short history, since im goin to sleep real soon
dont remember the dates, but i vividly remeber the king quest series being the first games i ever played, along with "return to zork"
i only ever had the pc or the gameboy until my uncle got us a ps1, then after 2 weeks he had to take it back because it was broken or something...somehow he repaired it and gave it back after a year or so...
after some time my older bro got a ps2, and a couple years later i got the gamecube, as well as my own pc..i had that until i got the wii..
ill post the games i had/remember some other time
i cant forget the first christmas morning that i received the N64. I had gotten pilot wings mario 64 and shadows of the empire. After ten minutes of playing both mario and pilot wings, i went straight for shadows. PLaying a star wars game with such stunning graphics was border line orgasmic at the time. I still rememebr the first time i killed a wompa. I felt like king of the world...go go dash rendar !!

1984: I am introduced to the Atari 2600 at my older cousins' house. I'm instantly addicted to games like Pitfall, Space Invaders, Beserker, Pong, Millipede, Pac-Man, Break Out, Donkey Kong, and Pole Position. There is no hope for the future.....
1985: I get my first NES for my birthday. Over the next several years, I spend more time playing video games than I do anything else. My mom doesnt care, as long as my school grades dont slip. My dad is just as addicted as me, seeing as he buys games for himself like Kung Fu, Metroid, Punch-Out!, Ghost & Goblins, and The Legend of Zelda. We both liked to play Duck Hunt together. My personal favorites were Kid Icarus, Legend of Zelda 1, and Ninja Gaiden.
1989: Sega Genesis releases. I get one for Xmas, along with Altered Beast, Golden Axe, and Shinobi. I was impressed, but Nintendo still reigned supreme, seeing as how I owned upwards of 40 games.
1991: I await with baited breath for the launch of the SNES. My dad is just as antsy. I receive my SNES for my birthday along with launch titles Super Mario World and F-Zero. I am blown away by the technological progress of gaming, and continue to be so by future titles such as Super Metroid, LOZ: Link to the Past, Act Raiser, Final Fantasy 3, and many more. I enjoy many many games for years until...............
1995: The Playstation debuts. There s no hope......again. Resident Evil scares the shit out of me, Twisted Metal consumes me, and Final Fantasy VII rules me. Totally. Resident Evil 2 is still in my Top 5 Favorites. Many more great games are played unitl...
1996: The N64 launches. I suffer for almost 6 grueling months because I have to get a part-time job from school to earn the money to buy my N64 and games, since times are hard because my mom and dad were 18 months divorced. I finally save enough money and I buy the N64, Mario 64, Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire, and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I re-introduce my dad to video gaming, seeing as how he drifted away for some years, and he is blown away by the games' graphics, most especially Star Wars since he is a die hard Star Wars fan, like me. I continue to play on my N64 future titles like Star Fox 64, LOZ: Ocarina of Time (greatest N64 game ever!), Majora's Mask, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Castlevania 64, Goldeneye, and Killer Instinct Gold.
1998: I graduate high school and join the US Army Infantry. 18 months of bootcamp, airborne school, and other training HELL ensues.......
1999: I arrive to my first duty station in Schweinfurt, Germany. I drink. A lot. And game, 'natch.
2001: I buy the Playstation 2. Tekken Tag Tournament is the greatest fighting game ever. I juggle work and gaming and drinking. It's fun. Silent Scope becomes a drinkning game in the barracks and Unreal Tournament is tutorial to us Infantrymen. Time Splitters was "meh".
2001: The XBox launches. I pass. Mainly because I didnt have the money, and I was a devout Sony/Nintendo fan.
2002: I buy a Nintendo Gamecube, secondhand, from a buddy who didn't like what the GC had to offer. The package includes games Luigi's Mansion, Star Wars Rogue Squadron II, and THPS3, plus 2 controllers and memory cards. I cant see why he didnt like the GC. Best $200 I ever spent. Super Smash Bros. Melee pwns. I spend days trying to unluck all the characters, statues, and levels. Metroid Prime is my new favorite game at the time it is released, and LOZ: Wind Waker is great, but not phenomenal like I had hoped.
2002: Iraq. I get shot and honorably medically discharged from the Army. I move back home to East Texas.
2004: I have my daughter, Madison.
2005: I continue to steadily game on my PS2 and Gamecube.
2007: I receive an ungodly big income tax return, seeing as how I was expecting far, far less. I instantly treat myself to a Playstation 3 with launch games Resistance: Fall of Man, Tony Hawk's Project 8, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It's cool, but Sony has yet to prove to me that the PS3 is worth $600. Two months later, very unexpectedly, I run into the opportunity to buy a Nintendo Wii at a very remote Wal-Mart (the non-superstore, old kind) in a po'dunk, redneck town about 30 miles from my city. I crumble, and buy it along with LOZ: Twilight Princess.
2007 and the forseeable future: I plan to teach my daughter to appreciate video games, and hopefully we can make memories together. I also plan to keep on gaming.

1980ish: my cousin gets a charlie brown Game&Watch
1984:I'm born
1984 +: my cousin gets an Atari (dunno wich one). everyone it's so sucked into it (all the cousins). I remember trying to play games like Pitfall, Donkey Kong and a cowboy shootout game of some sort which I dont recall it's name.
1989+: a friend of my brother has a NES, we just couldn't get enough of Mario
1992:my parents don't want to get us any kind of console, so i just have to settle with a tetris game... but a new kid moves to the neighbourhood, became friend fast and spent many years (well... around 3) making tournaments playing SSSD (super star soccer deluxe)
... and there's also donkey kong country
1995:I'm introduce to computer games. a friend of mine had Duke Nuken and play it everytime we could... we also play Doom
1996:I want a N64 so desperately, but my parents wouldn't pay 400 bucks for a console, so i had to play somemore DKC3.
my cousin (a different cousin) gets a computer and we play, for as long as we can, quake and Fifa 96
1997: I'm introduce to the playstation for the first time at my friend's house, I heard of it but never played it, from there on my life's completly change (gamewise). I almost got a GameBoy but I decided to wait.
1998: My parents finally budge, and I get a Play Station for my b-day.
I bought 5 games with it: Duke Nuken time to kill, Fifa 98, Street Fighter Alpha, Jurasic Park Lost World and Apocalypse
1999: I buy games like crazy (at least once month). out of all the games i got the best one were Tekken 3 and Silent Hill. funny thing about SH, it was actually my friend's, he didn't have a PS, but he bought the game and we played it at my house, he sleptover on weekends, and get scare the sh#t out of us playing that game.
But the game that forever change me, and my outlook on games, was Metal Gear Solid, i bought early 99, and i just couldn't get that game out of my head. I still consider it the BEST game i've ever played in my life.
... and there's also RE (1and 2), Spyro and many, many more. For some reason I hate FF or any other RPG for that matter ( mostly cuz I never played it, I didn't see the point of pressing a button and let the game play itself) ...silly me
I also get a N64 and Gameboy color
I was dissapointed with the N64, not only it had kiddie games, but most of them weren't as pleaseant as the PS versions (RE2 sucks. donkey kong sucked balls and don't even get me started on Majora's Mask), the N64 was a failure(compare to what Nintendo had planned), and was killed before it's due time, so it was only about GB for the next two years. but it wasn't all loses. there was GoldenEye, Zelda OoT among other great N64 games.
... I also get my first computer, but it just couldn't beat the PS. I played as many SNES games as i could using Emus
2000reamcast was out, but it was all about Playstation 2. the store where I always buy games at, brought one form japan, and me amy friend , as loyal customers, were one of the first ones to ever played Tekken Tag and Dead or Alive... marvelous
... I still buy PS game like crazy
2001:I'm introduce to Final Fantasy 8. i wasn't about to waste my money on 4 discs (again, silly me), but my friend got to game and lend it to, needless to say that I totally fell in love with it
... by the end of the year my PS starts failing, but it still lives (I have to turn it upside down to play games )
2002: finally I get enough money to get a PS2 (mostly cuz of the many i got when i graduated). the first games i get are Tekken 4 and winnig eleven. i didn't care about Xbox or GameCube
2003: my brother gets a GBA.... and I still don't care about an Xbox
2005: I get a new computer, and spent as much time as I could playing jedi knight and Warcraft 3
2006: I'm quite interested on getting an Xbox 360.
by the end of the year and deeply interested on getting a 360, mostly cuz of Gears of War. Nintendo finally won me back with the Wii, wich I still haven't bought
2007: my PS2 dies..... or so I thought
I got enough money to but a Wii, but i spent 80 bucks on fixing my PS2, and I bought two more games with it:GTA VCS and God of War... and a pair of converse... so it's bye bye to my money, until later this year when i'll finally buy a Wii
my brother's getting a PSP fo his B-day
somewhere 2008: no matter what, I'll get a PS3... and 360 if I can

I had the opportunity to get one free. An aquantince of ours worked at sears in the warehouse, and stole a whole box of them. 5 in all. I didn't take it though. To this day I don't know why I didn't buy a N64 or a Cube.
Gender: Male Location: Northumberland,
United Kingdom
1989 - 1993 - Obviously not starting and 1989 and probably not playing much but I do remember them. Acorn Electron, games like Monsters and at the same time on an old school mac, with games like Shadowgate and Beyond Dark Castle.
