After the company that was contracted by the UN to mine unobtanium was attacked and driven from the planet Pandora, the UN deployed UNSC forces to kill the natives and make way for the mining operations.
The UNSC has established a base and has access to technology available to them from the Halo games only. The Na'Vi have the flying wyvern things and command over several species of animal as in the movie Avatar. Fight takes place in the same jungle and airspace as the final battle in the Avatar movie, and the UNSC has deployed 1 squad of 6 Spartans.
