well Hercules is only stronger.. however this is not about strength.
what gives achilles the edge is mostly his speed, his godly grace, and of course the spear.
his speed + godly grace makes him a better choice over the average brawlers.
therefor i think gladiator would actually make a better fight for him not because of strength but because of speed.
