CA is the metatextual materialization of the story, the concept which empowers the comicbook of Superman, existed outside of the story itself (DC), on the verge of the page, and nothing, literally nothing, in the whole DCU is more powerful than the story of Superman (not Superman physically mind you, but his concept, what he represents); only Dax Novu and Primal Monitor (the white page) can take/damage the CA.
Pre Crisis Superman, the SoS or whatever else you can think of are simply out of their league here.
