Jarred's immunity to magic means there isn't much Illyana can do to him. But I can't see him doing her much harm either. His Blade might hurt her but i think it's a big risk throwing it to do so, she could easily port out of its way. I know it never misses what he aims at but Illyanna could easily make a doorway that takes it to another realm.
For the record: it had already been established that Nekron = "Death as a cosmic certainty... Death as the ultimate opponent" by that point in time: http://i.imgur.com/qO8u7bN.jpg
And so far as I know, Death's power/influence =/= magical... Even when Johns reintroduced him years later in Blackest Night. Jared was just haxx as f*ck when he needed to be... /shrug

Writer screwed up there. In a recent x-men issue, a Sentinel was blocking her teleportation because it could block out mutant powers, she obliterated a fleet of em using a spell.
Interesting fight. Magik is a very crafty character. In character, she has looked into the past and future to find out an opponents weakness more than several times. She spies on opponents. She beat the elder gods by going up and down the timeline looking for ways to defeat them.
She has access unlimited prep in the middle of a random encounter. Limbo is a dimension outside time, and she always ports using Limbo. She was able to circumvent a zillion traps to get to the Sword of bone. She could spend years planning and port back into the battle field without a single second passing by.
Her demon horde was able to kill all the heroes of marvel earth across most timelines, that could serve as a distraction while she ports in with his knife.
Strangely, maybe it's the side effect of the P5 force? I know everyone else (Cyke/Frost) had their powers screwy after it. But agreed, it might be writer error. For example, sometimes her Soul sword doesn't work on 'real' things: http://i.imgur.com/KowZ0GT.jpg
With regards to the Mordru showing...I will be honest, I cannot argue against it - because it was done off panel. Could she replicate it? Was Fate asleep at the time? On the toilet, caught unawares? Had teamed up with Mordru, who had betrayed him? No idea.
So to get stabbed in the back...off-panel...sounds kinda PIS to me. It'll be like someone clobbering Jane Foster in the back with Mjolnir. Or using Magik's own Soulsword against her.
Edit: Super bonus scan. The Empirikuul have been using science to go through dimensions, killing all magic. They have come to the 616 universe, and are already destroying large swathes of magical items and source of power. They captured many of Earth's mages, and were about to kill them, until one of their number sacrificed himself with a tiny bit of leftover magic and shunted them away.
They try to get back and save him, but all magic has already been cut off. Strange specifically asks them all - Shaman, Hellstrom, Scarlet Witch et al - if they have a teleportation spell that still works. Magik and the others look away.
Yana didn't have a teleportation SPELL available so, literally speaking, she wasn't being dishonest. She simply didn't want to go back and fight a powerful foe with nothing but a bunch of powerless hippies by her side just to save a gnome nobody. So she decided not to mention her MUTANT teleportation powers.
just want to chime in on the idea of using Fate's knife against him.
before Modru could do that he had to kill and absorb the power of a lot of Lords of Order and Chaos. even though it was off panel it was stated as how he was able to control the blade.
that being the case I dont think the feat is repeatable, especially considering said lords are already dead.

The Soul Sword started out as not being able to affect non magical beings and items but as she grew more powerful, she started affecting anything and everything in its path.
After reading the context behind the whole Mordru deal, I guess Magik getting her hands on the knife is unlikely.
Still think her teleportation and time travel are the keys to victory though...Magik taught Pixie how to teleport through magic but pixie needs to voice out a spell before she can port.
