plas is usually immune to tp. nate's tk would be way way too much. along with his shields, flight and teleportation, there is literally nothing plas could do to him unless he fought like a moron. this may well be spite.

Plastic Man didn't beat Fernus. He kept him busy partly because Fernus couldn't focus his form or something due to being immune to his telepathy(the right form to deal with Plastic? Something like that).
Whether he's immune to Nate's or not, I don't see him winning.

He was physically engaging him, but yeah. It was impressive since I don't think Plas had a lot of big feats, and how Fernus was being treated, but not what the OP was making it out to be. Like Leo said earlier, Nate has to fight like an idiot to lose here.
