Deadpool is faster and more skilled than Proxima. She seemed to lean heavily on her stats during the film, which isn't going to work against someone who is faster than her, has better durability feats than her, and is quite a bit stronger than the likes of Black Widow and Okoye, who gave her some grief.
It does depend on how serious Wade is from the start though. I can see him losing concentration and making some alien sex jokes, only to get blasted half a block away by Proxima's weapon.
