Ninjas/Samurai...recommendations PLEASE

I am crazy about martial arts meets anime. Throw in swords and really good animation and looks and we've got a happy me! big grin

Oh...and gore is good. Very good.

Silly humour is not good. Very 'not good!' [eg. Gantz: has to have an erection to get his powers? Bleach: EVERYONE'S got huge rolling eyes 70% of the time.] Forgive me if that offends anyone but...

Watched the first 4 minutes of Karas and haven't stopped watching those 4 minutes for a week now! Sword play in mid-air in CGI.... Happy Dance

Basilisk is a good ninja anime...not that I got far in it or the manga yet because of Samurai Deeper Kyo which is only a good manga not anime.
