Wrong Turn
I WAS OFFENDED BY THIS MOVIE FOR THE MISUSE OF THE STATE WEST VIRGINIA. NOT EVERYONE IN WEST VIRGINIA IS A HILLBILLY. THERE ARE SOME BUT NOT ALL. IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT THERE ARE PSYCHOS EVERYWHERE YOU GO SO WHY PIC WEST VIRGINA. PLUS WEST VIRGINIANS DON'T INBREED ONLY THE DUPONTS DO MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT THEM! I'M FROM WEST VIRGINIA AND NONE OF MY RELATIVES HAVE KIDS TOGETHER. THAT MOVIE WAS WRONG!

lol ok so i was being a bit harsh but i still think that when they make the movie they were like "where to inbreeding hillbilly's live" "WEST VIRGINIA" sry to be all harsh but i thought it was a bit mean.

Sure, no worries. To be fair, I suppose they did go a bit overboard in empthesising where the movie was set, and that was a bad point. Still, I doubt it was done malicously.
Other than that, I thought it was a really good movie.
Yeah not everyone are hillbilllies, some are rednecks, hoopies, and inbreds, and drunks. I mean singling out just hillbillies is wrong you have to include all of the people in the slimy one toothed gene pool of W.V
lighten up man, the shitty story of this movie just happend to take place in W.V there are plenty of other movies with inbred cannibals, in other states, and parts of the world, it just happens that W.V happens to have more than anywhere else

HA! the reason it was set in west virginia probably wasn't because its supposedly full of "inbreeding hillbillies" it was probably because of the neverending forests, it was perfect because of that, if they had set it in like washington, where would they find forests like that
I liked this movie, but the 3 inbreds reminded me of the X-Files episode called "Home". Anybody remember that one? It had 3 just-as-disfigured and defect-ridden-inbred brothers who had sex with their own mother to ensure that their lineage would continue. She had stumps for arms and legs and was kept strapped to a roller-board like the ones garage-mechanics use. Mulder and Scully found her hiding under one of the beds, and assumed she was a victim used for on-going breeding. She then informed them that she was their mother, and she wasn't going anywhere, and she was proud of her sons. She told Scully that she could tell that she didn't have kids, and that if she did, she'd understand the "pride" associated with child-rearing. That episode had alot of shock value, and is still one of my favorites.
In this movie, though, I liked how their inherent inbred traits weren't debilitations as much as they were enhancements. These guys were keen hunters and marksmen. Good premise, but with typically stupid people making typically stupid moves. My biggest issue with this film was why the idiots decided to head down the unpaved road for an undetermined number of miles instead of heading back the few miles they had already traveled, and past another well-traveled highway, houses, and a gas station.

After viewing this movie I hate West Virginia, I will never visit out of fear of necks, I have also seen deliverence so I know what you necks like to do.
after watching this movie i must say it isnt all that good......the white girls are stupid and complaining about everything. but i did like in the begining when th e ppl died by the barb wire trip.....that was unique!!
the movie was great and they just picked west virginia there not saying there all hicks not everyone in the movie were hicks maybe there just saying that one spot of west virginia has a bunch of hicks and hill billys
We have a winner here for the most intelligent post!
Also, with all this West Virginia bashing going on and saying "I'll never go there b/c I'm afraid I'll get eaten, etc....", I will say I'm from Georgia and in 1972 there was a similar movie which occurred there by the name of Deliverance. The movie was 10 times freakier, effective, more believable, and yes, better (and well-acted) than Wrong Turn could ever hope for.
What happened after that? The state experienced one of the most explosive population booms in the last 25 years.
MacheteMike: You are not making any sense. What do you mean 'the white girls were stupid?' What about the Latino girl? What about the male characters? Are you saying they acted smartly? If so, it sounds to me like you are racist and sexist.
If you were in such a situation, I dare say you would do exactly the same thing. It's hard to think clearly when you're terrified.
