Prologue: Penalty For Thieves

The fast going Arabian music filled the alleyways and corners of the street market. Today was a very busy day, this would be the last time the street market would be open to the townspeople, talk of a famine was coming and everyone had to buy their food quick. One boy stood out from the people, everyone else was wearing Arabian clothes from 1275, but this boy was wearing blue jeans and a red t-shirt. The boy looked bewildered, pondering what he was doing here, off all places. The boy, who looked no older than 18, searched around him for somewhere to go, but his eyes transfixed upon a beautiful girl who glimmered out from the rest of the people. His eyes lit up with love, he quickly made his way over to the girl, not taking his eyes of hers, he finally stood in front of her.

"Hi, I'm Jack, whats your name?" Jack asked with a tone of joy in his voice.

The girl did not reply, instead she giggled and ran off. Jack questioned this but quickly ran after the girl, not letting his love escape. He ran past shops, shop keepers had their suspicions that he was a thief. Jack finally caught up with the girl and he smiled, she looked sown and smiled right back at him and she pointed over at a gold ring. Jack looked at it and he saw the gold shine from the sun, he looked back at the girl who had a cheeky grin on her face.

"Is this what you want?" Jack asked, the girl got closer to Jack and she softly kissed him on the lips, his eyes glowed and his heart raced, finally he thought, a girl is attracted to him. Jack quickly, but cautiously sneaked over to the stall and set his eyes on the ring, he smiled and crept closer until a strong hand gripped his shoulder with a thud. Jack quickly looked around, the girl was gone but their were three guards standing in front of him with swords.

"Petty thief! Come with us!" The guard said in a deep voice

"Hey get your hands off me! I didn't do anything" Jack protested but the guards didn't listen, they dragged him across the rocky, sandy ground with no remorse.
Jacks legs were being cut by broken glass and sharp stones. Finally the guards brought Jack to a small, dark room and they closed the hard wooden door, locking it in the process. Jack was thrown onto the ground by one guard and he hit his head hard, Jack now had double vision and found it very difficult to see. All he could do was hear the voices.

"Yes sir, we caught him trying to steal from a gold shop" One guard said angrily

"He isn't aware of the penalty we have for thieves, so we can all enjoy the moment when we see his face" Another guard joked and everyone started laughing. Jack shut his eyes and tried to blank out the voices. Suddenly, Jack was pulled up from the ground and placed on a wooden chair, one guard grabbed his arm and slammed it on the table, holding his hand out. Jack couldn't see anyone in the room, but he did see a figure in front of him, but he couldn't make out the face as the figure was hooded.

"Do you know what the penalty here is for thieves?" The figure asked in a dark, demonic voice. Jack was becoming scared, he didn't like what was going on. He told himself that he wouldn't answer any questions, but maybe that wasn't a smart idea. The figure laughed and flipped his hood back to reveal a man wearing a dirty brown hat, his face was burnt, Jack suddenly regained his vision and he screamed in terror after seeing the man. The man lifted his hand up to reveal a razor glove.
"Need a hand, JACK?" The demonic man laugh and he was about to cut Jacks hand off with those razors, until.... BEEP BEEP BEEP.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Jack screamed as he awoke from his bed, the sweat dripped down his forehead and the rest of his body. It was just a dream, or should I say Nightmare? Jack just saw the most horrific man in his dreams, this wouldn't be the last time he would see him. It's a shame though, Jack's familty didn't know that whenever you move into 1428 Elm Street, strange things happen to you.
