I came across this whilst going through the YMDB. I'm pretty shocked that they've already decided to do a third film (which apparently began filming in February ) without knowing the strength of the second one. What's also worth mentioning is apparently there is no (so far anyway) Rodriguez attached to direct, only Miller. There also seems to be only one story thus far. Michael Clarke Duncan is also the only one attached so far. Link from imdb is here.
Don't take everything you hear at IMDB to heart, it's not updated as frequently as the news actually comes in more often than not. The principle cast is likely coming back despite the fact it's not "official" yet.
yeah they do have some pretty bad holes in their info from time to time. still good for general sort of stuff though

Let's not forget one of the biggest rumors of the Sin City franchise - Johnny Depp as Wallace. Depp had wanted to appear in the first movie, but they cut Wallace's story, and planned it out for one of the sequels.
Really? What I heard was that Depp was wanted to play Del Toro's part but he was busy with other movies such as Pirates. Now I hear they are talking about him as Wallace since Del Toro already had the other role.

Rosario Dawson, who stars in Kevin Smith's "Clerks II," tells Superhero Hype! she's looking forward to reprising her role as Gail in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City 2.
"I'm so excited [to make the sequel]," she said. "I'm lucky because Frank [Miller] really loved drawing that outfit and drawing Gail and I'm definitely going to be in the next one as the dame to kill, which is really good. ..There's a lot of violence in it, and it's not for everyone but I do think it's really smart. [Filming 'Sin City'] was definitely one of the best experiences I've ever had…. you just had to act and sell it through the story and that's what we were doing. That was an amazing experience. It felt like a theatre experience so I mean I'd love to do it again cuz I get to work with amazing people and it's really good stuff—groundbreaking."
