So who has seen Sicko? I'm shocked because the marketing for it is so small, but everyone say Farienhiet 9/11...right?!? It's scary to think of Powerful American hurting everyday America. You hear alot about it in movies and on tv, like alot of crime dramas (24, CSI L&O). Just thinking about it being reality creeps me out, but sometimes you just gotta face the music right? What are your views on American's recent government exposures through the media??
Most of his work is bias and one-sided. Sicko, for example, isn't very realistic. You got to keep in mind that for free health care you'd have to pay some really ridiculous taxes. So for people with decent jobs that can afford the little health care they need, like me, paying all of these taxes for SOMEONE else's health care is ridiculous. Especially when it could be some homeless man who needs a new liver because he drinks himself to death.
You also got to keep in mind that in America the immigration rates would be sky high if we gave out free heath care. Mexico would be all over us. The thing with France, and the UK, is that all of their bordering countries are on the same health care plane. Thus, no immigration. And France doesn't even allow immigration.
There are a lot of benefits but it's really unfair for the 75% + of the US that are doing fine.
You use the term 'ridiculous', but the US is the only major Western country too stingy to look after its own people like that.
In fact, taxes for a social health care system are not in the slightest bit ridiculous nor will they particularly cripple anyone.
Paying into such a healthcare system is no more unfair than contributing towards the police. it is a matter of civic- not to mention moral- necessity. Such a healthcare provision is one of the basic tenets and requirements of society, and a right everyone is entitled to.
That the US so lags in this area is something it is absolutely panned for by the rest of the western world.
Michael Moore is simply exposing things that those rich enough to not have to care try to ignore.
Meanwhile, your comments about immigration simply show remarkable ignorance about the way Europe works.

Though there were was a biast perspective rampant through this movie. I didnt find that the biast views manipulated the facts like his other movies. After a second viewing of this movie with my mother, who is an extreme conservative and also works in appeals at highmark, said the movie was an accurate representation at what she goes through at work.
conservative or liberal, one would have to agree that our government has an agenda to demonise socialism. If you were to ask the typical person whom is against socialism what socialism is they will struggle to find a definition.

For those of you who say this movie is one sided. Michael Moore intended for it to be that way.
He feels that the other side is getting their word out all of the time through all of the commercials and such and he felt that it was time for the other side to get their world out equally so.

I work for the news media, and I like Michael Moore's movies a lot. If he bags on the media, fine, he can just turn the tv off. I'll still go see his movies.
I thought Sicko was wonderful and I think it is time for the US to seriously consider universal health care. It really makes NO SENSE that we are making profit off of people's misery.

Exactly and what CNN had on him was pretty flimsy. Deviation in the numbers by a few hundred dollars that was based on them using different sources.
And Gupta bragging about US having shorter waits at the hospital to which Moore replied: "Well of course we have a shorter wait there are 47 million people who can't even get in the line!"
