Magneto has more power, and rather easily at that. But killing Bobby is tough, since I guess he can exist in vapor form. And he has sneaky attacks that work against more powerful opponents occasionally.

I'm basically bumping this, not taking a stand. I don't know enough to say for sure.

how does he get stopped in comics these days if he is seemingly so uber?

Magnetos most powerful form what is in the what if, where Magneto went to omega levels, trascended his body, and became pure energy. At the end of the issue he was making worm holes on a whim, he was going to go and destroy the shiar empire, I dont know if they ever continued the series.

There is pretty much nothing Iceman would be able to do against this version of Magneto.

Magneto is sucker punched with the life force stolen out of him and discorporated into his component atoms and despite that, he still gets up, as a being of pure energy, while at the same time sustaining Polaris on Earth while he is on Shi'ar with his will power and upon Polaris dying he declares war :

The only reason he was defeat is because he was sucker-punched , again .

In short, the only reason he was ever defeated in this story was because he was sucker punched twice, while he was kicking butt in pretty much all his other action sequences.
