At what point does smiley ue become excessive?

Mostly overrated. You don't need them in serious debate. And you can usually show your emotions with words anyways.

For fun they are acceptable. They can be cute or funny. I used to enjoy these two a lot: What the f**k?

and

...though not anymore. They can also easily exchange some thoughts when one is lazy.

i think smilies should be eliminated from the gdf.
would eliminate those with nothing intelligent to say but
a whole lot of smilies to post. sepecifically the overuse of:

no expression

and even

(never has any purpose besides some meaningless punctuation)

however this

would have to stay for the pic thread
