in the british transformers comics unicron was a god of evil, only able to possibly defeated by his "brother" primus: the god of light.
this was adopted by the rest of the series as a whole as the story of unicron so, it's canon.

tiamut lacks the matrix of autobot leadership (aka the allspark or primus's essence) , but being a celestial and all, he may bee able to replicate the might of primus

Celestials are generally above all that "Good vs. Evil" trivia.

sure but in the (marvel)transformers universe, they were the sole beings
for billions of years before any animal life started, like galactus.
unicron spent his time feeding on the universe itself, dark matter and all
until primus created the cybertronians billions of years later to oppose him. and only the spark of primus himself (the matrix) could harm him.

i thought he was voiced by orsen wells?he was in the movie anyway.

Yeah Chris Latta was the voice of Starscream and Cobra Commander.
