Well in the movie the ship plays tricks on your mind and whenever the ship opens up this gate it goes to hell. The ship was origionally built to create a wormhole to fold space and send you anywhere in the universe you choose. Instead it sends you to this demension of pure chaos where you eat each other and are tortured endlessly. Somehow the ship cam back and this doctor goes crazy and tries to send them back to hell. They manage to avoid this by seperating the front and rear of the ship. The rear of the ship contains the wormhole generator, so by using the front as a life boat they escape the wormhole.
Well from what i gathered it was them being mind ****ed by whatever dimension they were in. They may not have known what they were doing but somehow new what was being done to them. For instance this one chick thinks she sees her sick child running around, and when she pursues her, the "kid" tricks her into falling down an shaft to her death. Its just a mind ****, but if these guys don't know how to turn on the ship they won't end up in hell. It wasn't specified whether or not the crazy dr. is conspiring to open the wormhole again. So its kinda like pointless, this thread.

I'll watch anything with Sam Neill in it, but even he couldn't save this piece of shit.
