His scream isn't sonic in nature. Also...they're on his team. I'm sure he'd warn them or back them up before letting it go in his opponent's direction.

True but those are just the stored echoes of his voice. If he can power an advanced army with just the echos then the direct yell from his mouth would be unbelievble.
