I've always found the responses to these topics interesting, so here we go again:
For this thread, you get to choose one aspect of a super powered characters abilities, not the entire powerset, for use in our current real world. You will have full use of the powers, but you will be confined to real world applications of said powers and your own personal knowledge and creativity. The powers are:
Green Lantern's Energy Constructs (none of the other powers of the ring save for creating objects).
Firestorm's Matter Manipulation (No flight, etc., just matter manip).
Silver Surfer's silver glaze and flight (no matter manipulation or energy control, just the ability to travel as quickly as Surfer and live in space without issue)
Superman's invulnerability and strength (no super senses, speed, etc., just invulnerability and strength fed by sunlight).
Apocalypse's shapeshifting/molecular control (no external energy/matter manipulation, telepethy, telekinesis, teleportation, etc., just his ability to shift into any organic or mechanical configuration he wishes and regenerate his form).
Martian Manhunter's telepathy.
Northstar's superspeed.
Hank Henshaw's technopathy.
Longshot's probability control.
Flash's motion control (no super speed or fast metabolism for yourself, but the ability to slow down/speed up the world around you, for example, you could slow down a bullet in flight in order to dodge it, but if you fell down a flight of steps you couldn't slow the momentum of your own fall).
Iceman's temperature/atomic spin control (no ice/moisture form, etc, just the ability to generate cold and stop the spin of atoms to "freeze" them).
Dr. Light's control of "light" (EM Spectrum Control, but no living light form)
Hulk's Anger Based Strength and Durability.
Animalman's animal mimicry.
Terrax's geokinesis.
Photon's cosmic awareness.
Shadowcat's phasing.
Which power would you choose to use in our real world, and why? Discuss.
You two are that confident in your personal knowledge of matter and the periodic table? Don't forget, you don't get the character's knowledge of the powers, you get full use of the powers with your own knowledge.

I got C's in probably every chemistry class I've ever had, so Firestorm's abilities would be virtually useless to me.
Practical applications in a real-life setting...I'd go with Photon's Cosmic Awareness. Could rack up the $ by gambling and using CA, playing the lottery, the stock market....massive amounts of cash pouring in. And hey, money buys power, too.

Hmmm good point I would use Supes power to be in the a superstar in every sport and rack in the million then i would shoot you a call and have you invest my moneyhow 50/50 spilt sounds

Normal life will sure be different. Imagine having to explain to your friends that you were laughing so loud because you will see something really funny on the show you watch later that night.

With longshot's power, whether you reshape the world or just drown in hedonism is all just a matter of time. It would be faster if the power comes without its limitations though. does it?
