I always viewed dark beast as smarter while beast was more athletic.

DB alsways seemed more cunning and obviously alot more evil but not really a fighter. He one of those guys that runs away near the end of a plot or something.
More ruthless than beast but I wouldn't call him the better fighter or scientist. More along the lines he's just willing to go places where Beast won't scientifically and in a fight
