King Hype was all hype. Thanos has stood the test of time and didn't go down to two puny Hypes. Thanos hits him so hard the reader becomes impotent.

Actually, KH is one of the few scary powerful characters that DOES have a lot of on-panel fights.

And, some of those fights were against very powerful foes. Multiple Hyperions, Juggernaut, Magneto, Blue Marvel. Off panel, he supposedly beat Galactus.

Hahahaha, BM beat him, right ? Juggs was weakened, right ? The two Hyps also defeated him.

Thanos wrecks him on his way to Mangog's house.

Two Hyperions didn't beat King Hype. He was taking on two Hyperions AND the Exiles and was winning. Both Hyperions was on the ground huffing by the time plot took out King Hype.

Darkseid is evil incarnate or a good representation of that as far as DC is concerned.

Thanos is a nihilist who occasionally fights on the side of good.

I think Darkseid is a better villain, but Thanos is more interesting as a character.
