Samus (Manga allowed).
Race around the surface of a bumpy planet with no oceans and the same gravity as Earth with a similar atmosphere which all parties can breathe and use as if it were Earth's own.

I couldn't think of any comic characters that wouldn't stomp and could still compete. (My first thought was Flash, lelelelel) and I'm no good at Animu.

Dante is highly outclassed - he's a sprinter, not a marathon runner. He has no long-distance running speed feats. It would be like a Russian song by Vladimir Vysotsky "I run 10000 meters like I run 500 and very soon I was out of breath" (not very poetic translation, yes, but gives the idea). So I admit that my favorite char here comes last - good speed feats, but all those speed feats are not race/marathon type speed feats.
Unless we count Mundus fight but this was a flight and thus auto-disqualification.
Time travelling by running >>> nearly everyone here is capable of. Also I assume this is a RUNNING race and stuff like flight is banned. In terms of running feats Sonic>>>>> everyone else here, including Gonzales.
I'm honestly not sure what qualifies Samus and Dante for this. They're basically non-factors from what I can tell. I love both of these characters, but I'm not sure what they've done to even be considered for this.
I have already written about Dante. A sprinter with one questionable long-distance feat being flight one (fight vs Mundus). Him being here is a sprinter in marathon race, doomed to come the dead last and a shame for character.
Do not know about Samus, does she have any major LONG-DISTANCE RUNNING feats?

Hm, I didn't realize Archie Sonic was so retardedly fast. My bad.
Also, Samus can run at hypersonic speeds and has an adavantage no one else has, she can run through the planet's hills, meaning her path is the shortest.
