GL Ring Vs Cap Shield

Without resorting to any kind of molecular manipulation...

...can a GL ring destroy Captain America’s shield?
Trying to be clear as possible so as not to waste anyone’s time. Wondering if the ring has the raw power to break the shield, w.out esoteric tricks.
