This seems really one sided to me. I thought dazzler converted sound to light, dr light controls light, so one is a power source to the other and not vice versa.
Dr. light stomps regardless. His powers are too much and versatile for her too handle. Having teleportation, invisibility, flight, casting illusion and force fields, seeing through illusions that Dazzler can cast, and can absorb all the light attacks that Dazzler can deliver.

I think he provides a comfortable, reliable, and familiar motif, like something you can depend on when life seems overly chaotic.
