Kent Nelson compared to Nabu is like Hal Jordan compared to Ganthet or Captain Marvel compared to the Wizard Shazam. Nabu is above skyfather easy.

Sounds pretty awesome.

I have around a hundred or so PC Fate appearances, I've grown to love him.

So, how come Strange is up against a higher-than-skyfather character without any prep or anything?

He was created before the material universe/big bang was.
He's considered older and more powerful than the Guardians.
Probably the oldest being in the universe, save angels and devils.
