The Tidal wave challenge

The Tidal wave challenge

2000 ft tidal wave on all ends of Florida is 30 seconds away from crashing into the state. Remember, the Tidal wave is on every section of Florida that has water on the edge. It is about to hit Florida from each end. Which hero can prevent this without one life being lost? The hero is in the middle of the state.

Wonder Woman
Magneto
Superman
Thor
Martian Manhunter
Silver Surfer

Who succeeds and which showing are you using proving they will succeed?

mmm

Before the following issue, the person you inadvertently(?) listed as #1 would have been my #1 pick for this challenge as well ...

Note that the first 4 scans are just reference information for the issue this appears in and a bonus for fans.

Lol how does that help? It's a tidal wave on ALL sides of Florida....

Moreover, the jet is now inert, stuck in it's jet form...

Surfer
Superman
Thor

Surfer has planetary scale matter manipulation and could conjure up a protective dome if he wanted too. Thor could summon a super storm to rebuff the wave. Superman is Superman and he'll pull some MacGyver sh|t like he does routinely on panel.

The rest stand no chance.

Odinson could probably port a large enough portion of the water that diminishes the wave into non life threatening levels.

Too bad I didn't write "BEFORE the following issue", then, hey?

Oh, wait.

I did.

Also, that "inert jet", when it was active, was able to fit in either a bowl or a compact the size of a woman's makeup mirror.
Meaning our speedy Wonder Woman, who has helped evacuate cities in a matter of seconds, can repeat the trick shown. Florida is a peninsula; worst case scenario should require perhaps 3 such sonic booms?

With neither herself nor the plane PREVIOUSLY damaged, as shown here, I'm fairly confident she could pull this challenge off.

Nice and concise. I would say Surfer directly controls the water, but either way, a task like this should be easy for him.

Great Superman/MacGuyver reference. 😂

Too bad you ignored, or perhaps misunderstood my point, eh?

Florida has 1260 miles of coastline.

And it would be being hit, simultaneously. For three such booms as you assert, you'd have to show each boom capable of blocking nearly 400 mile wide, 2000 foot high waves. And then repeat it. Three tines.

So how does your scan help?

As for my choices, Surfer or Thor for me. Transmute the water into harmless gas, or BFr it, or summon winds to push it back, whatever.

Can't Magneto affect a pretty wide range?

I've heard planetary at his best, but even continental would be enough.

A shield? Or somehow setting up a wall around the place?

Could he affect the sea water diectly, somehow?

Surfer
Thor
Superman
Magneto

Superman punches the tidal wave.

Superman can. And he's probably the only one.

Thor cannot; he and Bill needed the help of Skuttlebutt to stop a far smaller wave.

This is why I said include on panel showings. Please provide proof that each can succeed in completely the task.

And what would you accept as "proof". Be specific.

Here you go :

Surfer transmuted about half of the Enslaver mother ship into an armada of ships. How big was the Enslaver mother ship? It dwarfed the planet Earth. So if Surfer is capable of transmuting something that size into MULTIPLE complex objects (spaceships), imagine how easily he can get rid of that wave?

Enjoy.

Regarding the other two. Superman is Superman and he'll bullsh|t something into a victory. Thor has planetary level atmospheric control. He'll create a state sized storm to rebuff the waves.

Yeah, Superman is probably the only one that could do it. All he’d need to do is freeze the wave with his breath, and toss it to Antarctica like he did in Injustice. Granted, the wave wasn’t nearly this size, he still did it with ease, and Injustice Superman was low-tier compared to most versions of Supe’s.

So you only have something for Surfer. Gotcha.

@SSJG...

Do you have scans proving this?

Superman can simply freeze the wave.

What are you talking about? There's like a million ways for Superman to stop a tidal wave.

Look up Adventures of Superman 431 "They call him Doctor Stratos" if you need an example of Supes actually stopping a wave. He simply digs a moat around Parlimemt, and channels the water away from the building. No reason that won't work for your little scenario.
