When Maul and Savage were about to duel Sidious see details
Just with the Darth Maul and Savage duel against Sidious : What really was Mauls real intention initially was he and savage trying to genuinely forge an alliance with sidious (ie how he bows down to sidious saying he did all he did to join him etc) or deceive Sidious and try to defeat him which sidiuous states etc? What does canon say about this ?

I've always thought that Maul was initially doing all of it in the hopes that daddy Sheev would be proud, and allow him to be his apprentice again.
