Well, my pitch to the Cartoon Network is finally over. Months of writing and illustrations all prepped for one, 20 minute meeting. *wipes brow*
Definitely a cool group of people over there. The building is three levels and reminds me a bit of a lower-income Pixar; the interior is littered cartoon character sculptures, flat screen tvs, couches, foosball tables, and apparently some game consoles. I got to see the work areas for the late Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, Flap Jack, the work cubes for new development, and (of particular interest to me) editorial, where they were working on an upcoming episode of Ben 10: Alien Force.

The pitch went okay. Rob and Craig were a bit difficult to read. On the whole, I think they liked my ideas. Unfortunately, they were concerned that my main character might not be instantly recognizable as a protagonist from the late planet Earth (he's not human). I didn't think quickly enough to point out that Earthworm Jim is a representative hero of Earth, while being the furtherest thing possible from a human, but with plenty of human qualities. Ah well.
I'm also at a disadvantage because the network has already received several space/sci-fi pitches (and one of them involves a "late Planet Earth" type story). Still, they've asked me to address their criticisms and email them several story ideas based on this concept.
I haven't been turned away outright, so I think that's positive. 🙂

Hey Speed we need to get together a meeting of the team leaders/ owners/ council members. We need to address a few points. One being the team owners image not up yet, the banner not updated with Poison Ivy, and some other little things I've noticed. It will be almost impossible to get everyone together at once, so we can handle this via pm.

yeah man, sorry about that, I had to get rid of my photoshop altogether, I had to download an ancient version of it, so my photoshop skills have been lacking as of late, however today I finally got my Photoshop CS3 back on my computer, so all changed will be made soon as possible.
