Ok nigh infinite can mean alot of things since the term "near" infinity doesnt really make sense, a power ourput of 100 volts isnt any nearer to infinity than 1,000,000 volts.

Im pretty sure its general consensus that nigh infinite is used as a hyperbole or exaggeration to show she became incredibly powerful.

Correction, you're the one that has no proof.

Non-arguments are self-defeating. No need oppose them since there's nothing to oppose.

So basically you're saying that you have nothing to the contrary.

That's fine, it's obvious you're only doing this to avoid backing up your point.

The lady was compared to Dark Phoenix. That gives perspectives on the "near-infinite" comment.

There's nothing to counter.

Weak bait, won't work.

Storm wins every single time by virtue of the gem.

Follishness.

What does Thor have to do with Storm? Absolutely nothing.

Sorry, but the gem just doesn't have a history of amping people enough to take out a high end skyfather.

Amping people completely unrelated to Storm. Circumstantial evidence.

More foolishness based on unrelated facts of the gem and other characters who are dissimilar to Storm.

Storm loses.

faulty logic based on a hasty generalization and circumstantial evidence since those characters are unrelated to Ororo.

Those are just a few of the bullshit arguments. Completely sef-defeated.

Why should I fight to present evidence when no sound argument has been presented?

I was noticing that too.

You have no proof, only wishful thinking.yes

The proof is the effect it had on everyone and you choose to ignore that evidence in favor of "ya girl", as you tellingly put it. My bias-meter is reading over 40 megalenats on that one.

quote:
Only thing that's been presented is people other than Storm using the gem and being dummies and utilizing physical strength almost exclusively, and who are very different from her which is circumstantial evidence since that is completely unrelated to how Ororo would utilize the gem.

Both GalacticStorm and I had the best and most intelligent responses in this thread because for all intents and purposes, the gem would be utilized to it's fullest. No circumstantial evidence with unrelated facts and instances like Drax and Thor with gem or Storm sans the powergem stating she has to work with elements unlike Thor which would have no relation to her with the gem.

You and GS both make the false assumption that using the power gem is as simple as using an item from your inventory then just swinging away, Merill, when the kind of abilities you two mention have only been approached by people with experience with the gems, not just "general knowledge." You can fellate your own stance all you want but a terrible judge is going to make terrible judgments.

"Effect" does not mean enhancement.

Hasty generalization based on circumstantial evidence.

Characters completely unrelated to Storm.

Because of the aformentioned delima, we have to go by the definition of what the gem does for wearer.

quote:
It contains access to all power and energy that ever has or will exist, backs the other gems and boosts their effects. It allows the user to duplicate almost any physical superhuman ability and become invincible, and therefore unbeatable, when using raw power alone.

Like it has been said, at the vey least, she'd be INVINCIBLE.

This means Thor can't hurt her, while she is free to do her thing.yes

I'll leave this debate alone.

It really shows the bias that when Storm is given ulimited power via the power gem, people still say Thor could beat her when he is completely second-rate when compared to the upper echelon characters.

I didn't say it was. But in this case it is, because "enhancement" was the effect.

Prove that Storm would have that level of control over the power gem.

So does her saying that Thor could have stopped the storm with a mere thought.

BTW, Thor has also beaten Storm, in a story written by CC, the same guy that wrote the story you just referred to.
