The first cartoon is an embarassment the comic rawked through. The newer cartoon would be a better example it tries a little bit at least

Yes the comic was great, I have to agree whole heartidly.

I would try to use the new series as an example, if it were not for the fact that it totally destroyed the turtles just to make them be 'cool' for kids nowadays.

Turtles in space?....no

To tell you the truth, I was the biggest TMNT fan there was. I went to Pizza Hut and got all the special movies etc...Went to the rock concert when they had the "Out of their SHell" tour lol. I must have been 7 or so.

Now I feel old. Gargoyles was also one of the regular cartoons in my rotation though. It's sad to look back at them on the brink of extinction.

X-men is the cartoon that got me into comics.

My point? Don't really have one. I still like watching cartoons and I just turned 21 :P.

Bebop: Oh, oh boy, boss. Are we going to beat up on the toitles?
Shredder: If I know you, you're going to get beat up by the Turtles!
Rocksteady: What's the difference as long as somebody gets beat up?

Some classic goodness.

I liked TMNT because of its lighter mood actually.

Anyway, getting back to the topic...

I was just supplying a counter-argument on the basis you set.

You said that the Gargoyles took on some exo-suit o' power right?

Well I gave you a competent retort, and you try to prove me wrong by insulting the show?

Fact is, The turtles fought something similar, and in my opinion they would win a fight against the gargoyles.

Have the Gargoyles ever fought 30+ guys all at the same time? Not that I have seen.

Have the turtles lost battles? Yep, plenty. (Even if you watched just the movie you'd know this)

Have both the Gargoyles and the TMNT fought a suped up exo-suit o' power? yup yes

the newer tmnt cartoons are better in terms of action but the originals had a certain style you don't see in cartoons any more.

yes and personality and humor, the new ones were more dramatic and mature with the "to be continued" and such.

I like the both..but the newer one is better...it's got more action, dark and light humor...the Shedder a threat..but each turtle is basically like they were on the old toon. Leo the serious leader. Don the brain. Mikey the surfer kid. and Raph the angry bad ass...Leo the best though..my fav

Goliath is stronger than any turtle, but the turtles have the sense to attend the battle with sledgehammers at high noon.

Lexington, Brooklyn, Broadway and his aged father Hudson, along with their dog could probably be beaten by the turtles quite easily at night.

Xanatos' stale platitude would not have been enough for me in awakening - "Go ahead - without me you'd still be gathering moss." Or in City of Stone; "Do you want vengeance or a solution?"

Turtles win by the way. Gargoyles are comparable to Triceratons, and the Turtles had no true issue with platoons worth of them.
