Why do people keep talking about characters "raping" each other?

Rape need not have any sexual connotation, even ignoring 'slang usage.'

It can also mean to seize, plunder, or violate.

So, Superman seizes the Hulk, roughly violates him, and then plunders his corpse. There's not necessarily any forced sex acts. 🙂.
