Amazing isn't it? His ass had to be saved by rogue from an army straight out of the paleolithic. This was in the same series in which he couldn't salvage a subway train wreckage or save a guy from bleeding to death in it.

I don't recall gambit having taken him out, no, but maybe I just blocked out the memory.

that should be the space story arc. they fought havoks x-men group, that were under mindcontrol, but magneto and gambit were on the same side...

Found it. no wonder I couldnt recall it. it wasnt really gambit, timesink (one of legion's alter-egos given flesh of his own) pulled an attack gambit would make in the future into the past and magneto's unshielded face. he did get KOed.

even considering mags was trying to stall him as part of a plan, it was still retarded for him not use shields and stand there talking and even without shields he has amped durabilty feats enough to tank that. writer had apparently never read a story with him.

That's just horrible. Better put the final nail and post the subway and the bleeding man instance while you're at it.

My God my eyes bleed, that was so horrible. Did this writer had a vendetta against Magnus? That had to be the biggest pile of shit I've ever read in comics. **** this bullshit.

actually, I think that series was simply rogue-centric and the entire support cast had to be toned down, so she could be front and center of the action, though none as bad as magnus as he was the most powerful.

hm, depends on what era mags we're looking at. his powers and feats have fluctuated over time, no doubt, but this is most certainly not a stomp if we use the classic, full powered mags. his shields have easily held against guys of cm's level. and cm DOES bleed, right? any reason to think he doesn't have iron in his blood? mags can also control lightning, so that wouldn't be a great avenue of attack for cm either. the big question for me is whether or not mags can inflict enough damage to ko billy whose durability is among the highest of the high heralds. probably not (unless we go really exotic) but he would def put a hurting on billy before billy basically outlasted him.

thats just the thing, mags would fare better against folks like SM, WW, gladiator or apollo who would suffer more with his exotic options. but billy's body being a magical construct willed into its form and function makes it a lot harder for mags to do anything of lasting effect. even when his body was turned insde out by a black hole attack or whatever that was, he just reformed the magical construct. it actually seems easier to ko him by punches. Magneto could use hi powers to amp his strengh and use a skin tight force-field to get physical, but he'd be outclassed by a fair margin going toe to toe.

i tend to agree. but he can suffer from concussive damage and mags blasts would certainly hurt him. and i'm still not convinced mags couldn't impact him via cm's blood. without that though, cm would def outlast eric, but some were making this out to be a stomp, when it would be very far from that imo.

btw, do you have that inside-out scan hanging around? i've seen it before but can't really remember exactly what kind of attack it was or the context surrounding it.

the concussive force of the blasts would hurt him, yeah. I agree it's not a stomp.
