Gump is a war vet, medal of honor recipient, top sprinter, ultimate distance runner, gazillionaire, hurricane beating, fisherman(officially the most dangerous job in the world) badass. Zan is a shit tank commander and expert in dying stupidly.

The rescue Gump made for Bubba and Dan was more heroic and badass than anything Van Zan did. Gump saved his team mates whereas Zan got his allies killed on multiple occasions. Also Gump jogged practically non-stop across the country, so he's definitely in top shape, definitely more than a guy who with a prolonged beatdown couldn't even slightly weaken a starving man. Combined with his definitely-more rigorous war experience, Gump definitely has the means and capacity to rip Van Zan a new ******* in his face.

Down-play all you like, Gump was shot and keep on moving. What are Van Zan's durability feats? List them, instead of dodging and down-playing like a coward, coward.

Damage soak is one factor. It's like saying McClane beats the Mountain since he can take a beatdown with fists. Its stupid.
That doesn't apply to a fist fight. He took on no one impressive and tended to run from school bullies. If this was a running away contest that would be something else entirely. Zan runs at his problems whereas Forest runs away from them.
IOW, you can't show superior damage-soak for Van Zan nor stamina feats so you do the Three D's, dance, dodge and downplay. You lost another thread; you know it. Move along now.
Nothing you've said has countered the pro-points (speed, damage-soak, stamina etc) towards Gump winning as you've not brought forth a single valid point to support Van Zan winning.. Your argument is: "Van Zan wins because I like him." Get a valid arument; until then, you lose.
Downplaying tactics for Gump, you've already done that.
You've yet to list a single feat of Van Zan that puts him above Gump here. You've only dodged listing Van Zan's abilities when asked. Seems you're scared again.
