You should watch the movie again. The bridge didn't collapse. The unsupported end just fell off the edge of Asgard. The bridge itself was OK, as evidenced by Odin catching Thor and Loki from the shattered edge of it.
There was an explosion from the force of the bridge breaking (it seemed to be the build up force of Thors blows, since the bridge glows more and more every time he hits it; that gives me reason to believe it was absorbing the force). Then the unsupported end (where Heimdall usually watches), falls off the edge of Asgard since it's no longer tethered by the bridge. The bridge itself stands. Even though most of it was in enveloped by the explosion.
Thing is, Thor has a good chance to survive Magneto's attacks whereas Magneto won't survive a lightning strike from Thor.
Nightcrawler will be the biggest problem for Thor. But unless the opponents know of each other before hand and unless Nightcrawler specifically targets Thor at the ring of the bell, I'll put my money on Thor lightning spamming the X-men over Magneto crushing the Avengers with steel.
Then again, if Cyclops decides to blast Thor at the start and Magneto gets a clear couple of seconds then the X-men can probably take it... though Hulk and Thor woudl still be problematic.

Even Nightcrawler isn't a threat. He's an annoyance at most. He cant hurt Thor or Hulk here.
Really? All I ever see of Thor is him raping everyone else, from Hulk to the Xmen. I'm also reasonably sure I've seen an instance where Magneto couldn't lift or control Thors hammer that contradicts that one. I'll try to find it. Although, I should also note that it hasn't happened in the movies, so there is no reason to assume Magneto can lift it in movies. Thats the beauty and the curse of this being a Movie Vs Forum/

I don't know why some of you are going on about being right and winning. Rob and Impediment were in on this gag because I PMed them. Silent and Rao PMed me and figured I changed the post. I highly doubt anybody thought Quan made the post, but simply played along just for the lulz.
Yeah well in any case, Magneto hasn't shown the capability to control Mjolnir (or any magically enhanced metal) so I will assume he can't control Mjolnir until proven otherwise.
He can probably divert it like Kurse did, but not control.
