He was obsessed with getting them back. They still survived. Khan also killed Marcus.

Can you agree it was stupid to hide his people in torpedoes that weren't even in his possession in the first place?
Khan had the technology to beam himself form Earth to Klingon territory but chose to hide the last 72 people of his race....in torpedoes.

You don't know if he had access to the tech at the time or the means to do so to 72 men without being unnoticed. Khan and his men survived. Marcus died.

No one knew they existed in the 1st place!
And don't give Khan the credit for their survival, it was Spock & The Enterprise crew that shaved them ie: take them out of torpedoes that Khan put them in the 1st place.
