I loved this flick. I am a Zombie movie fan though.
Good: Opening, Zombies, CJ, Ken, Andy, Celebrity Shooting
Bad: The minidrama in the movie with the Zombie Pregnant chick, The Blair Witch camera style during the credits annoyed me
Ugly: The Fat chick that was so a Zombie but no one could tell till she tried to eat them. Fast fat chick too
Cool: The Cameos from 3 peeps from the original
Uncool: All the people I liked except Ken died. And why did she go after the dog? She really need that to comfort her? I understand her parents were dead and all but she had a guy crushing on her why not just get comfort from him?
Overall: Awesome flick with everything being done well. Only thing it really had in common with the original was Zombies and hiding out in a mall
*Also I thought more of Monster Garage then A-Team when they were doing up the buses.
the movie makers should have just showed the first 15 minutes over and over again instead of actually trying to make a movie, then maybe it would have been entertaining

omg, zombies are freaky... and i felt bad for the fat lady! and when she died and began to run and died my friend laughed and i felt bad for her. But there was no real indication to what happened to the little girl across the street. and if they cant use doors, how the hell did she get into the house?!?!?!?!
This movie was one of the worst movies ive ever seen in my life ,the plot was horrible the special fx were alright but besides that i was bored through out this entire movie. I was laughing at the beginning.
how were you laughing? i was like scared and just waiting for the next thing. it was the best part. and i think they were stupid for adding in the stupid humor in... just there was some reatarded things that they shouldn't have had in there. and i so knew "that" was how the movie was going to end!
I was so surprised with this film. I thought it was going to be another lame re-make of a classic, but the style this film posses keps in the stylistic tradition of George Romer's classic 1979 version of theis film. I't fast, funny, and to the point; this film doesn't dick around and bullshit for long periods of time, trying to make it more than 40 minutes long, in fact, it wasn't long enough! The film is probaly well over or just about 2 hours, but it has you craving for more. The off-beat and dark humor adds to the film's brilliance (and brilliance is what most horror films these days lack). Director Zack Snyder is definitely a promosing new filmmaker who shows his own unique style (with a hint or Romero) withing the first ten minutes. The film goes full-circle and doesn't **** around with your patience with build-up/development or whatever, he delivers right away. Unlike most characters in horror cinema, these ones are definietly not paper-thin! The characters are deveoloped within minutes of meeting them, thanks to screenwriter James Gunn. The music in the film is excellent, using a Johnny Cash song for the opening credits with chaos and rioting and violence behind it, as well as Richard Cheese's parody of "Down witht he sickness" used in a well-constructed montage of the characters living in the mall. The films begins and ends with a bang, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
how can you all believe that this shit was actually good. I couldnt even find it tolerable. I have seen this movie numerous other times in numerous other movies. Nothing new, nothing interesting, not even what i would call a good attempt at a remake.

Well you guys (most of you) sure praise this movie a bit too much! I've never seen the original and I enjoyed the movie but where the hell did the virus come from?! Indeed its nothing new and thats a shame. It has some really cool moments, some REALLY cheesy moments and some really lame moments. Oh well its entertaining.
Okay, the thing about Dawn of the Dead is that it had a huge name to live up to. Anyone who knows anything about horror will tell you that the original is factually one of, if not the best zombie film ever. So a remake of something that is basically perfection is going to get bashed because, even though it is a neat movie, it is nowhere near as revolutionary, or just simply good as the original.
On it's own however, it is a strong, entertaining, fun zombie movie. If you compare it to the original it will be trash, but that goes for almost every zombie movie outside of the trilogy of the dead. If you compare it to other zombie movies, it's pretty strong.
