Pre Crisis Superman I don't recall ever beating Darkseid, he usually got hit 1 time and was done.

Darkseid destroyed the pantheons of the universe and amplified his power.. And Surtur is also below DC's Surtur, the Norse Gods are the Elder Gods of DC and were considered above all except Spectre and Darkseid. Not even Zues was this level.

No, it was more like "Slap". And Superman went down. Superman could come with a whole team "Slap slap, Omega Beam, Punch, kick" and it was over. Similar to what he did to people in Marvel vs DC, when he served Surfer and Thor and some others at the same time, served Surfer another time, and even made Galactus feel fighting him wasn't worth the effort.

Wait... you don't mean when Galactus blasted the living turds out of him in 'The Hunger' and left him for dead, do you? He was a little dissapointed with the effects of the Omega Beams on Big G wasn't he? wink
