Why is this turning into a Maul sucks or not thread?

Liking Maul or not is matter of opinion. Kingman, if Exanda thinks Maul sucks, so be it. Exanda, if people like Maul, then so be it as well. Let's leave it at that.

The title of this thread is ROTS Vader vs. Maul, and Vader would win.

Yet you used the term graduating or something. Sorry, this is going off topic everyone.

And I advise you to stop blurting out your age kingkman, it's just...inadvisary, just like saying you are cleverer than everyone.

This would be an interesting battle.

Both use aggressive forms with a focus on offense. Neither have shown much in terms of actual defense. Maul despite his offensive prowess was driven back by an older Master and a Padawan while Anakin/Vader ( in the movies ) hasn't ever really been on the defensive end of the battle.

Basically it's a question of who sets the tempo of the fight first.

Vader would probably be the one to do that. Interesting topic though..

Gideon (or Janus [Iunno]) quoted from the novelization and made a successful case for Maul. In the TPM novel, he's described not as "being forced back" but as manipulating the direction of the fight in to a more enclosed space where he could separate the two. Maul was controlling that fight up until his arrogance got the better of him.

Well that would make sense. But Kenobi did manage to outduel him after Qui-Gon went down..

Yea. I can't say Maul cheated by using the force cuz then my arguments for Dooku would be crushed. lol

But yea Maul still got stupid and died. =/

Djem So vs Juyo - good match, but Vader was more powerful than Maul. I'd give the edge to Maul in terms of lightsaber and physical, but in Force attacks by far Vader wins. IMO

Well Vader has already defeated Maul once. Resurrection, and I quote "Resurrection was selected as one of Star Wars Insider 83's 20 Most Memorable Moments of the Expanded Universe, with Leland Chee confirming its canonicity on his blog."

In my Obi Wan vs Maul thread almost everyone agreed that Maul loses.

Bullshit!!! Obi-Wan was no match for Maul in TPM. Yes, he defeated him. But that doesn't always indicate superior ability or prowess. Think of a "punchers chance" in boxing.

Correction. Anakin "beat" Dooku. Yes he killed him. But the actual defeat has an asterisk..

I'd love to see Ray Park standing there with Nick Gillard annoyed while Hayden trips over his feet and a battalion of 12 year old girls cry for him. Fk'n Lucas man...

Still, Anakin beat Dooku. He was just better.
