Comparing Superman's HV with Cyke's OB is like comparing an adult Siberian Tiger with the warm pawprint of a day-old kitten!

The two are not even comparable (apart form the fact that they both emanate from the eyes).

Now, Cyke's optic blast is a formidable weapon/attack/ability, but one cannot put it anywhere near the same level as what Superman can do. Just because Cyke can blow Wolvie off his feet, or for that matter cut down a good portion of a forest (a nice scan that wasn't posted on this thread), doesn't mean his OB qualifies against something that is, simply put, on a whole other scale.

As I said, tiger versus kitten's paw print.

Is it possible that even Superman's heat vision could even melt adamantium?

Also....how would Cyclops optic blasts compare against Darkseid's Omega beams in a battle? I've seen Superman's heat vision contact Seid's beams...but Darkseid's beams seem to always over powers Superman's beams. I doubt Cyclops' would have the same effect

He was using OB to represent Optic Blast.

* HV obviously produces heat, while OB does not... Marvel frequently tells us that OB is a concussive force...

* OB, as a concussive force, is powerful enough to level a large part of a forest, cracked Onslaught's armor and overloaded Bishop within seconds measuring nearly two gigawatts of energy... here are his other feats:

-> In X-Factor#50, while Jean acts as the vessel to the souls of all the people gathered, Cyclops acted as the lens to channel that power and release an optic blast that decimated a Celestials 's arm.

-> In the Phoenix: Endsong storyline, the Phoenix Force uses Cyclops' optic blasts to regain its lost strength and power after being split into pieces. Beast commented that Cyclops seems to be releasing an unlimited amount of energy that is feeding the Phoenix force's unlimited hunger.

-> In X-Factor #68, in the battle against Apocalypse, Cyclops released a large optic blast that defeated Apocalypse.

* it is also stated that Cyclops does not use his powers at such a level due to the preoccupation he has regarding his control, or lack thereof, of his abilities...

* Superman's HV, on the other hand, is on a completely different level... it can damage Marvel's cosmic beings, in my opinion... wink

X-factor 50- not a feat for his power, but the fact that he could channel it is a feat for his control.

Phoenix: endsong: ..........no comment.

X-Factor #68- Mitigating circumstances, it was being MASSIVELY boosted by baby Nathan and Jean. There may have been some PIS since Apocalypse has absorbed the optic blast before.

And yeah, I think Superman's HV can hurt cosmics.

If he can collapse a white dwarf and drill all the way to it's core with his HV, he can damn well hurt cosmics. wink
