then why worry about canon? Star Wars was created by imagination, so continue using imagination to play out fights, canon or no!

If my spirit was ground to dust, it would not be by Star Wars or canon, but by people like you who continue to post on Star Wars forums after claiming that it has drained your Star Wars spirit!

The unknowns are what make Star Wars exciting, what could have happened instead of what did!

Think about it!

Personally I'd feel like a jackass. Here I am talking about something like I'm an expert, when really I'm just blowing hot air. I would condone you putting me in my place after my display of unjustified arrogance.

Have you read and posted on any of the other topics on this forum besides this one?

Because if you have then you would see that every topic on this forum is unknown! Otherwise it wouldn't be any fun to debate. They all have some jedi against some sith that never actually fought eachother, that is unknown. They also have people that did fight each other with different circumstances. That is also unknown. Every forum you posted on is unknown. Otherwise is would be the same thing that happened in the movie, book, or game. And why debate the same exact thing without unknowns???

You don't know the definition of an Unknow, do you?

I'm sure I do, but what is SO BAD about using an unknown character in a topic debate?

Please tell me and if it is a good reason I will apologize to you and everyone else.

From the Forum Rules, second thread down with Note beside it:

"No fights using Unknowns. Unknowns are characters that we have had too little or no evidence of their powers, abilities, or skills. This applies to characters that have not had screen-time, or characters who only show their powers in gameplay. Unknowns include Darth Plagueis and Marka Ragnos, most notably."

To extrapolate, Unknowns are characters like these two and their ilk, along with KotOR characters who's undefined powers and skills are just that: undefined. Gameplay mechanics such as choosing what powers Revan has, how he fights his battles--all non-canon. Likewise, as we don't know how powerful any of these characters are in relation to the eras in the mythos we DO know (the PT and OT especially), we can't use their accomplishments as gauges when we compare them with other characters from other eras. For example: Would Revan defeat Darth Vader? We don't know, because while Vader as a plethora of defined feats and abilitites, Revan doesn't. All KotOR characters receive most of their know powers and limitations from individual gameplay, and seeing as how canon is NOT subject to the whims of millions of different choices... we get the Unknown.

So all fights with unknowns in will effect the fight directly but we cannot say how in either for or against.

Owned.

See, you are really starting to annoy me, you are obviously contradicting the rules of these forums and if you do not like these rules then get the f*ck off.

Srsly, the point of debating is so you can build arguments on facts and logic. If you're using your freakin' imagination, you're not debating but you're making a fanfiction. I don't know why this simple concept is so hard to grasp.

I have to wonder if this was aimed at me, and whether or not the mind that combined these English words in such a way thought it was clever in any way, shape or form. I sincerely hope not.

This is the definition of Fanfiction. You seem to want to be able to write fiction without all the originality and skill required to do so. This is the kind of parasitism that makes smart people want to believe Ayn Rand, and it dismays me to see it here.

To put it in words you can understand:
NO

quote:
you are most ignorant lucien...i comend you for having such courage on a computer...but on the inside your a small little nerd that hasn't come out of the closet yet.

We have a few options when it comes to determining upon an interpretation of this post. Some are less damning to the poster than others, but none are complimentary.
1. It is quite possible that the writer does not actually know the meaning of the word 'ignorant' (which would be sufficiently ironic to sooth my ire).
2. It is equally possible that the poster is aware that ignorant has a negative connotation but does not know proper usage. (This is distinct from the first option in that the intent remains the same, obfuscated only by incompetence.)
3. The user account may well be meant as a joke; it strains credulity that an individual in possession of so feeble a mind would be able to navigate the intricacies of the Internet, let alone operate a keyboard beyond the rudimentary input of an age and credit card number.
4. This option, like the one preceding it, focuses on a holistic analysis of the post: This approach suggests that the user is at or below KMC's mandatory age of 13. The bungled contraction and absence of even rudimentary conventional punctuation, when considered in conjunction with the idea, implicit in its use as a concluding insult, that homosexuality is a shameful personality trait.
5. The strange synthesis of the Internet toughguy persona with the (socially instilled?) unconscious homophobia suggests a latent homosexuality, desperately compensated for with posturing and (failed) attempts at intimidation- especially of those in positions of perceived authority.

I have to wonder, was this post intended to be clever as well?

quote:
Have you read and posted on any of the other topics on this forum besides this one?

This is an example of the level of irony which must be attained to avert a(n overt) negative reaction.

Wow, I can't believe this is still going on...

I'm not writing a fanfiction. I stopped when I was twelve. Anyway, if it's going to cause this much controversy than seriously forget it. Someone just needs to delete this thread because it's brewing a lot of animosity. Everyone seriously needs to just stop. All ANY of you are doing now is insulting one another and that just needs to stop. No one's proving a point anymore, it's just the same stuff over and over again. Everyone's beginning to just sound like Dino from The Flintstones, lol.

Anyway, I'm sorry to the other junior members who did want unknown fights to happen. But it's so obviously not going to. If I happen to come across a better board that allows such fights than I'll come back and let you guys know. Otherwise, I'm pretty much done here. I'd say it was fun while it lasted but... XD

Oh and this entire site is a result of IMAGINATION. No matter what you say, you can't disprove that. It's what makes human beings grow and prosper. I'm not saying a fight between Revan and Obi-Wan would make any of us grow in any way, it'd just be fun to mull over lol. I really am disappointed with the board as a whole but what can you do, right?

Anyway, if someone does have the power to delete this thread, please do so. I'm tired of being the reason people are wasting their lives away arguing pointless garbage. Any more time spent arguing it would simply be even more of a waste.
