It's all about staying power with Marvel. They offered me an internship, but that meant that I had to work for them full time, and without pay for at least one year. You also have had to be a college grad (which I am) and have taken or acquired skills that they can use the hell out of for that amount of time. Marvel are real ball breakers. If you want to break into the industry, and develop a great portfolio (you need a hell of a portfolio or you're a joke to any company), your best bet would be to go for one of the independent companies like Image. Marvel has a way of doing a hatchet job on your creations, and if you are disliked by another artist, they may make a mockery of your creation. Look at Rulk, and what they attempted to do to Cable. Yep Image is the way to go.
