Freddy can alter anything he wants. Superman was affected the entire film and up against someone who can do whatever he wants while exploiting your fears Superman doesn't have a chance.

Jason died at the end and also had the kids helping him against Freddy. Freddy raped Jason in the dream world and turned him into a little kid.
