I enjoyed Keaton back in the role visually and Burton's use of similar design/sets to the original. But the humor was mostly meh, the story largely recycled and Monica Belluci's role was nigh pointless, overall I give this film one big meh rating.
I thought it was good. Although I felt it rushed a little towards the end. I wish it would have included Gina Davis and Alec Baldwin finally connecting with their house guests in the underworld.
I felt it didn't really go into Claymation like the original, especially with the model town, felt it was just overlooked. In a way it felt like it took scenes from Men in Black 2, Serleena and Monica Bellucci character had similarities. It was all about Beetle Juice's past but towards the end it flew by the scene with one quick moment.
I liked the film but I think it could have been longer, it felt rushed. The only thing I disliked most was the beginning of the film with Lydia Deetz job as a talkshow host psychic, felt that was not necessary.

Oh, I did watch this the other night with my family. It might have traumatized my daughter, haha (she's only 4, almost 5), but I thought it was surprisingly good. Like most nostalgia legacy sequels, it was probably best when it wasn't being nostalgic and was doing new things, but overall I found it pretty amusing with some fun effects and gags.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Baby Beetlejuice was awesome. I laughed pretty damn hard at those parts. It's actually kind of Evil Dead-esque.
Willem Dafoe was entertaining, but the character was sadly kind of wasted.
