Oh, in regards to the Surfer/Panther thing, I just opened the SS respect thread and the very first image is this...
(please log in to view the image)
Now this seems to suggest the Surfer does indeed have bones/joints to crack as it were, so maybe putting him in an armlock isn't AS incredulous, although the fact it is being done by Black Panther is.
this has to be retconed, i just cant let this slide, this shit is so wrong, marvel has some explaining to do for this one

The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?
Harry Callahan: When a man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross!
The hammerlock he tossed SS into cracks me up. For one its not that hard of a hold to escape if you know how. Secondly SS is like class 100. Just as a test, ask someone around 10 years old to put you in a hammerlock, then power out of it. Not think if you were over 500 times stronger rather than like 5 times stronger
Also, whats worse, Apocalypse with the chair or Herc with the table?
Captain America stats are above peak olympics.. in all sports...
its bench press... he is higher... sprint... higher... long distance run... higher... gymnastics.. higher.. and as for spidey... he's spent years holding back.. .and has a TON of respect for the man. spidey is not a killer, and would never try to take out cap like that... hell spidey doesn't even do that for his villains... so its within character.. in comics...
as for thanos... err.. eternals are strong... strong as most metahumans.. or mutants.... thanos is a mutant eternal... then enhanced by science and the powers of death.. He has always been written as being SS or higher level... wth makes you think he shouldn't be able to touch silver surfer...
as for the other two... i agree... superman used to be all afraid of the power of darkseid.. now its... eh.. i'll punch you in the face!

It depends on the writer. Sometimes he's just energy.
Whether he has bones or not doesn't help though as no part of that hammerlock makes sense. It's like the penrose triangle - the only way for it to work is if you accept it is impossible.
