Surprisingly prophetic predictions:
This was a conversation I had with someone via private messaging.
There's not enough here to identify them, and the only thing they reveal is that they are a foreign speaker, which is no shame, and that they don't think a Supergirl movie will happen. So far, in terms of a full-length, live-action film, it hasn't; they're still right.
However, 2 years after this conversation, DC took my advice and put Supergirl on the small screen. That was CBS's 2015 Supergirl, and it transferred from CBS to sister channel CW, but is going now into its fifth season. They made the very wise decision to follow a 20-something year old Kara Zor-el to preclude anything problematic for the male viewing audience. Even future presidential candidate Jeb Bush admitted to looking forward to the series:

The other prescient thing discussed here was Wonder Woman, which took off when a woman of the type I described, Patty Jenkins, took directing reigns.

One of the most remarkable pieces of demographic info I've seen to date.
Over 80,000 viewers, with men out viewing women more than 10 to 1.
Highest in the 45-54 year old group, followed by the 55-64 year old group, precisely those you'd assume, from popular culture, who'd profess disinterest or "turnoff" for the subject matter.
Turns out people are incredibly intrigued by strong, beautiful women, even, or perhaps especially, those who pretend otherwise.
I'm recalling now National Geographic World kids magazines.
Don't know if they still have those, but I'm recalling a regular feature page entitled "What in the World??" where subscribers would mail in photos, sometimes with a clue iirc, and have people guess at what they were looking at.
Be interesting to try and create a thread like that here. Might work marvelously if it could be kept tasteful ...

Here Barry winces from feeling a small portion of Kara's strength from her handshake. This scene was later replaced with an ice cream scene where Kara unwittingly illicited a similar pain response when trying to reassuringly squeeze/pat Barry's shoulder.
