KMC Forums - Wolerine versus the Shredder.

Okay boys and girls.. listen up cause this is how the fight(s) would go down�

Now, suffice it to say, I�m a HUGE fan of both wolverine and shredder, and I know what these characters are fully capable of doing. There�s no point in looking for bias in this answer as I have none for this fight, and (though this may sound egotistical) I think that I understand better than most exactly what would happen between these two in a fight�

Now� the result and the duration of this fight is largely contingent on which shredder we are using for the purposes of this debate. That said� let us begin the list:

Old school shredder (cartoon): This shredder, as esteemed pointed out, has some near super human qualities... As previously stated, he�s been seen to rend through tree trunks with his bare hands, as well as punch and kick his way through metal doors with a significant amount of ease. However, being able to punch or chop through a solid object does not make one battle efficient� and shredder proved this time and time again.. consistently losing to just one or two turtles at a time. As was also previously stated, shredder was more of a source for comical value than an incredible fighter on the old TMNT. Hell, even Kasey Jones beat his ass.. I think that last statement speaks for itself.. While it�s true that shredder did become more threatening towards the end of the show, it�s also true that he didn�t become a better fighter all that much, he just had better recourses to use. Given this, I think it�s a fair assumption that wolverine wins this fight 10/10. Shredder just doesn�t bring anything to the battlefield that�s very threatening to wolverine whatsoever. The only ways he would win is by a plot device, or PIS.

Old school shredder (comic): Okay, now this is more of a fight. Now a lot of people aren�t quite giving this version of shredder the credit he deserves� well� its about time for some education. Old school shredder easily beat the crap out of the ninja turtles when they fought him in the first book.. The old school turtles were talented enough to fight an entire army of foot ninjas WHILE being attacked and shot at by 100 swat members�AND getting the upper hand in the situation� They consistently fought off global to cosmic threats. They fight dinosaurs in hand to hand combat and emerge victorious� They are superhuman in strength.. probably around Logan�s level actually. They are superhumanly fast (again� their feats put them in the same boat as wolverine) and they can operate and fight completely battle effective even when deprived of valuable senses such as sight, and hearing. Shredder was also more deadly than his own elite foot guard� each guard was a match for any turtle on his own, and they murdered hundreds of foot without so much as breaking a sweat. Yet they were all underlings for the shredder�Now the turtles, upon fighting shredder, were totally humiliated. He outclassed them in every way� When Leo decapitated him, it was in a swordfight in which shredder was still recovering from death (literally) and wearing absolutely no armor to protect himself. Even then Leo later admitted he got lucky in that fight. Against this shredder, I think Wolverine still wins, but only a good 7/10 maybe 6/10. This version of shredder was basically a younger, healthier, stronger, more agile etc.. etc� version of Shingen... and we all saw how hard of a time wolverine had with him�
*possibly more skilled than wolverine.

Anime shredder- The shredder used in the pic that Esteemed supplied would wipe the floor with wolverine� but not because of his hand to hand proficiency, but rather, is overall power level� anime shredder is capable of transforming into 1.) -A gigantic dinosaur zord (Godzilla sized) who is considered a threat on a global scale) or 2.) �A mystically armor covered warrior with Tekkeman blade like capabilities. Sorry to say, but either way, this shredder would wipe his ass with Logan�s lifeless body. Shredder 10/10
*not more skilled, but certainly more powerful

Movie shredder- He�s basically a lower level version for comparison as old school comic shred head.. the only problem is, that the turtles are not nearly as powerful as their comic book counterparts, and thus the shredder�s quality must suffer as well.. While being a great fighter, his fighting style uses a lot of blocks to secure his own safety� something he can�t afford to do with wolverine. Nothing he has however is anything wolverine can�t handle... Wolverine 7 or 8/10

Movie super shredder- While this shredder is certainly stronger and more durable than his non infected counterpart� he loses his speed and agility, in return for mass and brute strength� while he�s certainly going to have some super strength, he actually comes off faring worse against wolverine in the end because he doesn�t have enough strength to really effect Logan and can�t afford to lose the skill and speed that would have made him threatening in the first place� Wolverine 8 or 9/10.
*nowhere near as skilled

Video Game shredder- this is basically the old school cartoon shredder but with great fighting ability, (able to repel all four turtles at once) and heavier levels of durability. It ups his game.. but it can only help so much� Wolverine 6/10 (Shredder does have an advantage as his video game counterpart has a seemingly inexhaustible stamina.)
*contingent on person playing him, but definitely skilled

Video game super shredder_ okay now we have a super shredder who�s seen uprooting heavy machinery from the Technodrome (metal gear sized machinery, an estimated 15 to 20 tons), retaining his fighting ability, while getting an increase in speed, and durability as well as some random super powers including: flight, levitation, napalm strikes, lighting bolts, super speed, phase through attacks, and something similar to instant transmition. Wolverine isn�t going to fair out well against a fighter with this good of fighting ability and super powers this extreme and numerous� Super Shred 9 or even 10/10 (those napalm strikes combined with lighting bolts are gonna do some major havoc on wolverine�s healing factor, and with his phasing and warping abilities, it�s going to be hard to connect a hit on him.)
*just too powerful, skill matters not.

New School shredder- Now here�s the real fight�Okay new school shredder is totally badass and WAYYY under appreciated� new school shredder consistently Destroys the entire team of turtles WITH splinter, and casey, AND does it with ease. The turtles have been able to defeat him with plot devices� But otherwise, it�s been all shredder, all the time. The New tmnt are basically as powerful as their old school counter parts, but have even more ridiculous feats such as splinter able to bring down a living dragon with martial arts kicks, or taking down a class 50 lifter with more of the same (battle nexus). And splinter isn�t even has physically fit or strong as his sons. Yet shredder is able to easily dispatch them at his will. His fighting ability is superb, not only is he able to dispatch the turtles etc etc.. but he is also able to pinpoint the weak spots on an opponent to rend that opponent immobile (as he did with uber stockman) this would definitely come into play with wolverine and his skeleton.
Strength feats include standing toe to toe against a Triceraton (approximately 10 to 15 tons lifters) in a stalemate while in h2h and holding his own. And breaking two of Leos swords at once (into shards of metal) while holding them over his head, as well as punching multiple opponents through brick walls.
Durability; he�s been seen to take a full on beating from leatherhead (who one punches titanium steal doors) WITOUT his battle armor and emerged just fine, he�s been hit with an entire water tower (that exploded for some reason) and resolved without a scratch, his suit survived a skyscraper destroying explosion, and he�s seen casually walking through infernos on a frequent basis. Even the Utrom that is shredder has regenerated from being blown up, Got nothing but extremely pissed off when he was hit with an arrow in the head/face, and is last seen surviving the cold, and vacuum of space. His armor seems to be fully functional, even after being stabbed, but it can be short-circuited.
Agility; he�s been seen leaping across a city street from one skyscraper to another (more than 20 feet up and 30 across) , with a discernable amount of ease� He�s also been shown to spin jump kick two turtles simultaneously while spinning another 180 degrees after the kicks to catch an incoming sai and chuck it back before his feet hit the ground..
One top of all that, he has over 500 years of experience (on earth alone and possibly thousands considering his universal reputation) of his fighting art, and in strategical thinking, as well as having the mental capacity, quite literally a rocket scientist.
And for wolverine�s health, lets just pray shredder doesn�t have the sword of Tengu. sad

This version of shredder leads us to the ultimate version of this fight, and from here I will say this�

This is simply and utterly how things would go down�

Wolverine would fight him and lose the first time, miserably at that� he�d recover and regroup.
The second time wolverine would again be fighting more skillfully but still losing and either shredder would be backed away by a plot device or wolverine would be forced to escape.. OR the fight would simply be interrupted by the intrusion of something/one else entirely.
And finally in the third fight, Wolverine would be able to secure a hard fought victory, and perhaps just BARELY winning at that, but he would do it�

I�m not gonna say who would win this fight out of 10 but you can take that last few sentences as you like it�
